What Tide Rock buys

Tide Rock is a San Diego holding company, founded in 2013, that buys founder-run business-to-business companies with cash and no bank debt, then keeps them using permanent capital instead of selling on a fund timetable. Its investors earn a yield from company profits rather than waiting for exits. It buys platforms and add-ons with up to $20 million of EBITDA in manufacturing, B2B services and value-added distribution, and it looks for recurring demand, long customer relationships and steady cash flow. In October 2025 it said it had more than $1 billion of acquisition capital.

The portfolio is broad: precision machining and metal fabrication, electronics manufacturing, plastics, food producers, contract packaging, reverse logistics, commercial cleaning, and recyclers such as Full Circle Electronics, American Recycling and MAT Recyclers. Sellers can roll part of their proceeds into the wider Tide Rock portfolio, and a central growth team helps with sales, hiring and systems. A smaller company can join as an add-on, as Analog Technologies did with the electronics manufacturing group in January 2026.

Greymont’s take

How Tide Rock fits a seller

Tide Rock fits the founder of a profitable B2B manufacturer, recycler or niche service company who wants a fast, all-cash sale with no lender approvals and would like the business to have a long-term owner. Because no acquisition debt is put on the company, cash can go to growth rather than loan payments, and sellers can roll equity into the wider portfolio and earn a quarterly yield. Permanent capital does not mean Tide Rock never sells: in 2025 it agreed to sell Accu-Fab to Mayville Engineering and sold ISC to Cogenuity Partners. An owner who rolls equity should ask how that stake is valued, how the yield is paid, and what happens to it if the company is later sold. Owners of recycling or e-waste businesses can also look at Full Circle Electronics or American Recycling as add-on homes.

Questions owners ask

Does Tide Rock use debt to buy companies?

No. Tide Rock says it pays all cash for acquisitions and adds no bank debt to the business, so deals need no lender approval and cash stays available for growth.

How big a company will Tide Rock buy?

Its strategy page says it invests in platforms and add-ons with up to $20 million of EBITDA in manufacturing, B2B services and value-added distribution.

Does Tide Rock buy recycling companies?

Yes. Its current holdings include Full Circle Electronics, a national IT asset disposition and electronics recycler, American Recycling in California's Central Valley, and MAT Recyclers, a California mattress recycler.

Does Tide Rock ever sell its companies?

It holds with permanent capital but does sell at times. In 2025 it agreed to sell Accu-Fab to Mayville Engineering for $140.5 million and sold ISC to Cogenuity Partners.
