Privacy Policy
The short version: we collect the details you send us through our contact form or by email, and we use them only to respond to you and to evaluate a possible engagement. We treat every inquiry as confidential. We don’t sell your information, we don’t use advertising trackers, and our site doesn’t set cookies.
Who we are
This Privacy Policy explains how Greymont Advisors (“Greymont,” “we,” “us”) collects, uses, and protects personal information when you visit greymontadvisors.com or contact us. Greymont is a buyside M&A advisory firm based in New York, NY. You can reach us at info@greymontadvisors.com.
Information we collect
Information you give us. When you use our contact form we collect your first and last name, email address, phone number (optional), company, position, whether you are a business owner, acquirer, or other, and your message. We also note which version of our site you were viewing (business owner or acquirer). If you email us directly, we receive whatever you include in your message.
Information collected automatically. Like most websites, our hosting and security provider processes basic technical information when you visit, such as your IP address, browser and device type, the pages you request, the page that referred you, and the date and time. This is used to deliver the site, protect it from abuse, and produce anonymous, aggregated traffic statistics. Our analytics do not use cookies and do not identify you personally.
Preferences stored on your device. If you choose the business owner or acquirer view, our site remembers that choice in your browser’s local storage so the site opens the same way next time. This stays on your device and is not sent to us.
How we use your information
- To respond to your inquiry and follow up on the conversation you started.
- To evaluate a potential engagement, including whether an introduction between a business owner and an acquirer may be a good fit.
- To keep records of our business communications.
- To operate, secure, and improve our website.
- To comply with legal obligations and protect our rights.
Confidentiality. Discretion is central to our work. We will not share the identity of a business owner, or the details of any inquiry, with a potential buyer or other third party without your permission.
How we share information
We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising. We share it only in these limited cases:
- Service providers that help us run our business and process information on our behalf: Web3Forms (delivers contact form submissions), Microsoft (our email and business software), and Cloudflare (website hosting, security, and privacy-focused analytics).
- With your consent, for example when you ask us to make an introduction.
- For legal reasons, if required by law or legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Greymont, our clients, or others.
- Business transfers, if Greymont is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of its business, subject to this policy.
How long we keep it
We keep inquiry information for as long as needed to respond to you, maintain our business relationship and records, and meet legal obligations. When it is no longer needed, we delete it or keep it only in a form that does not identify you. You can ask us to delete your information at any time (see below).
Your choices and rights
You can ask us to access, correct, or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop contacting you, by emailing info@greymontadvisors.com. We will respond within a reasonable time and may need to confirm your identity first. Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under applicable privacy laws, and we will honor requests as those laws require.
Do Not Track. Our site does not track visitors across other websites, and we do not allow third parties to do so, so our practices are the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
How we protect information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections to our site and access-controlled business email. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Children
Our website is intended for business owners and professionals and is not directed to children under 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Other websites
Our site may link to other websites. We are not responsible for their privacy practices, so please review their policies.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page and change the effective date above.
