What Rockwood Equity Partners buys
Rockwood Equity Partners has invested in lower middle market companies since 1999 from offices in Cleveland, Denver and New York. It buys business-to-business manufacturers, value-added distributors and service providers in industrial markets and in regulated fields: aerospace and defense, environmental services and healthcare. A new platform should be based in North America with $10 million to $75 million of revenue and $2 million to $7 million of EBITDA. Add-ons can be any size and located anywhere. Typical situations are a family or founder taking outside capital for the first time, succession planning, recapitalizations, management buyouts and corporate carve-outs, and the firm takes control or partnership positions.
Its current platforms include two environmental services companies, Clean Water Environmental Services (stormwater and erosion control compliance) and Energy Renewal Partners (energy and environmental consulting), plus Dynamic Entrance Solutions (commercial door, dock and access control service), NexSite (utility damage prevention) and ZERO Manufacturing, bought in 2025. Each platform publishes the add-ons it wants, which is the most likely way a smaller company meets Rockwood.

Greymont’s take
How Rockwood Equity Partners fits a seller
Rockwood fits the owner of a B2B service or manufacturing company with $2 million to $7 million of EBITDA who is planning a succession or taking outside capital for the first time. It is a natural buyer for stormwater, erosion control and environmental consulting firms, and for commercial door, dock and access control service companies, through platforms that already list what they want to add. Sellers often keep their identity: Wright's Hydroseeding kept its name and leaders after joining CWES in December 2025, and the president of Florida Silt Fencing stayed on after its 2024 sale to CWES.
Rockwood leans on its Growth System and its River Guide network of former executives to work alongside management. An owner should ask how hands-on that help will be, whether the deal is a control or a partnership position, and what the firm's exit plan and timing look like.
Questions owners ask
Does Rockwood Equity Partners buy environmental services companies?
Yes. Environmental is one of its regulated focus areas. It owns Clean Water Environmental Services, built from Pase Environmental in 2021 and since joined by CMS Environmental, Florida Silt Fencing and Wright's Hydroseeding, and Energy Renewal Partners, which it called its third environmental platform in its current fund.
What size company does Rockwood look for?
For a new platform it wants $10 million to $75 million of revenue and $2 million to $7 million of EBITDA, with headquarters in North America. Add-ons to its existing companies can be any size and in any location.
What kinds of add-ons does Dynamic Entrance Solutions want?
Its portfolio page lists installation, repair, maintenance and locksmith businesses that serve overhead and commercial doors, loading docks, gates, security grilles, fire doors, access control systems and security cameras. Rockwood says the platform has completed 13 add-ons so far.
Does the owner stay after selling to a Rockwood platform?
Often, yes. Wright's Hydroseeding kept its name and leadership after joining CWES in December 2025, and Florida Silt Fencing's president continued in the role after CWES bought the company in June 2024.
