What One Equity Partners buys

One Equity Partners (OEP) is a New York private equity firm founded in 2001 that was part of JP Morgan until it spun out on its own in 2015. It buys industrial, healthcare and technology companies in North America and Western Europe and has offices in New York, Chicago, Frankfurt and Amsterdam. Its stated targets are $100 million to $750 million of revenue and $10 million to $150 million of EBITDA, so a typical OEP platform is much larger than most founder-owned companies. It closed its $3.25 billion ninth fund in September 2025, which lifted its assets under management to about $16 billion.

OEP's method is to buy a platform, often a business carved out of a large corporation, and then merge other companies into it. It favors business-to-business companies in fragmented markets and says its relationships with owners usually build over 12 to 24 months before a deal. A smaller owner is most likely to meet OEP as an add-on: in late 2025, for example, Brown & Root agreed to buy Specialty Welding and Turnarounds.

Greymont’s take

How One Equity Partners fits a seller

OEP fits owners of larger business-to-business companies who want a buyer that will merge them with others to build scale. Its IT services holdings, including Myriad360, Kinly and Mythics Emergent Group, make it a natural buyer for managed service providers and systems integrators. It also owns U.S. industrial distributors such as McNICHOLS and Wheeler Fleet Solutions.

Owners are not always bought out in full. At Myriad360 the leadership team kept a significant stake, and the McNichols family stayed on as major shareholders and kept running their company. In 2025 OEP left InfuCare Rx through a buyback led by the founder. Because OEP is built around combinations, an owner should ask which existing platform OEP sees the business joining, and what role the owner would have once the companies merge.

Questions owners ask

Does One Equity Partners buy IT services and managed service providers?

Yes. Technology is one of its three sectors. Current holdings include Myriad360, a New York systems integrator it backed in October 2026, Kinly, a New Jersey managed service provider, and Mythics Emergent Group, which resells and integrates software for the public sector. In Europe it owns Trustmarque, Digital Value and Kirey Group.

What size company does OEP look for?

Its stated targets are $100 million to $750 million of revenue and $10 million to $150 million of EBITDA. A company below that range is more likely to join one of OEP's existing platforms as an add-on than to become a new platform itself.

Can an owner keep a stake when OEP invests?

Often, yes. Myriad360's leaders kept a significant ownership position in the October 2026 deal, and the McNichols family stayed as significant shareholders in October 2025. Corporate sellers have also stayed in, such as KBR at Brown & Root and Stellantis at Comau.

How long does it take OEP to get to a deal?

OEP says its senior partners lead its own deal sourcing and that relationships with owners typically develop over 12 to 24 months before a transaction is agreed.
