What Haven Capital Partners buys

Haven Capital Partners is a New York firm that held the final close of its first fund, Haven Capital Partners I, at $375 million in August 2025, above its $300 million goal. It backs lower middle market companies in three areas. In business services it looks at IT services, data and information businesses, facility and infrastructure services, insurance and financial services, and human capital management. In healthcare it looks at healthcare IT, payor and provider services, and life sciences. In education it covers early learning through college and workforce training.

Haven targets US companies with $3 million to $15 million of EBITDA and invests $10 million to $40 million per deal. It is flexible on structure: it can take control or a minority stake and can supply equity, debt or both for recapitalizations, growth plans and buyouts. A smaller company might meet Haven as an add-on to one of its platforms, such as Technology Management Concepts in Microsoft software services or Ascend Safety Collective in elevator maintenance.

Greymont’s take

How Haven Capital Partners fits a seller

Haven suits owners of IT services, compliance, education services or specialty facility services businesses who want more choices than a full sale. Since 2024 it has made a minority investment (Human Capital Education), a growth investment (Technology Management Concepts) and two new platforms built by combining founder-owned firms (Saratoga Compliance Solutions and Ascend Safety Collective, both with Altaline Capital Management). Its first exit came quickly: IBM agreed to buy Cognitus in October 2025, about 18 months after Haven invested.

Because Haven is a young firm investing its first fund, an owner should ask how decisions are shared between Haven and any partner firm, whether part of the money would come as debt rather than equity, and how long Haven expects to hold the business before selling.
