What Achieve Partners buys

Achieve Partners is a New York firm that builds its investing around the shortage of trained workers. Its main strategy buys control of technology services and healthcare services companies where hiring is what holds growth back, then sets up an in-house apprenticeship or training program to supply staff. Current examples include managed security (UltraViolet Cyber), finance-system and Workday consulting (Ascend Partners, Helios) and pediatric therapy (Westside Children's Therapy). Its homepage puts the target at $20 million to $200 million of revenue. In an April 2026 Wall Street Journal article posted on its site, the firm said Fund II looks for $5 million to $20 million of EBITDA, writes checks of up to $75 million and plans 8 to 12 control deals.

That fund, Workforce II, closed at $450 million in April 2026. A separate edtech strategy backs education software companies such as MasteryPrep, Elentra, MusicFirst and Beanstack. A smaller IT consulting or therapy business is most likely to meet Achieve as an add-on, as InnoFin Solutions did when it joined Ascend in September 2026.

Greymont’s take

How Achieve Partners fits a seller

Achieve suits an owner whose growth is capped by hiring: an IT consulting, managed security or therapy business that cannot find enough trained people. Its pitch is to pay for an apprenticeship or training program inside the company, and it points to Cloud for Good's Salesforce apprenticeship and Westside's plan to help at least 100 behavior technicians earn advanced certification by the end of 2026. Exits so far have gone to both large companies and other investors: Infosys agreed to buy Optimum for up to $465 million in March 2026, and Tailwind Capital invested in Cloud for Good in March 2025.

An owner should ask how much of Achieve's growth plan depends on the training program, who funds it, and what happens to the plan if hiring improves. It is also worth asking which of the two strategies, workforce buyouts or edtech, a deal would sit in.

Questions owners ask

Does Achieve Partners buy IT services or cybersecurity companies?

Yes. Its workforce fund owns UltraViolet Cyber, a managed security provider that bought Black Duck's security testing services unit in September 2025, plus Ascend Partners and Helios in finance-system and Workday consulting. In March 2026 Infosys agreed to buy Optimum Healthcare IT for up to $465 million.

What size company does Achieve Partners look for?

Its homepage says $20 million to $200 million of revenue. In an April 2026 Wall Street Journal article posted on its site, the firm said Fund II targets $5 million to $20 million of EBITDA, with checks of up to $75 million and 8 to 12 control investments.

What makes Achieve different from other buyout firms?

It only targets fields with talent shortages and builds training pipelines into the companies it buys. Cloud for Good launched a Labor Department registered Salesforce apprenticeship under Achieve, and Westside plans to help at least 100 behavior technicians reach advanced certification by the end of 2026.

Does Achieve Partners invest in healthcare services?

Yes. Westside Children's Therapy, a Chicago-area pediatric therapy provider, was the first investment from its second workforce fund in August 2025, and the firm said it expects about a third of that fund to go into healthcare.
