What Gallant Capital Partners buys

Gallant Capital Partners is a Los Angeles firm, founded in 2018, that takes control of companies in three areas: technology (IT services, cybersecurity, DevOps and vertical software), business services (outsourcing, information, environmental, facility and infrastructure services) and industrials (aerospace, packaging and manufacturing). Its stated limits are EBITDA of up to $40 million and equity checks of $15 million to $200 million. It buys from founders and families, from corporations selling a division, and from other private equity owners, then puts its own operating team to work on each company. Altify, bought in 2025, was its third corporate carve-out in about a year. The firm reports roughly $1.4 billion of assets under management.

Gallant does not publish a minimum size, but its equity range points well above the lower middle market. A smaller owner is more likely to meet Gallant through an add-on. Arctiq, its IT and managed security platform, has bought founder-led firms such as Shadow-Soft in Atlanta and Summit Partners in Las Vegas, and Pro-Vac has added hydro excavation businesses.

Greymont’s take

How Gallant Capital Partners fits a seller

Gallant suits owners of IT services, managed security or infrastructure services companies who want a buyer that brings its own operating staff, not just capital. For a founder-led IT firm, the likely path is a sale to Arctiq, which has added Summit Partners, Verinext and Shadow-Soft since late 2024 and which Gallant has said it will keep funding. In the Shadow-Soft deal, the acquired team joined Arctiq and kept serving its customers. Gallant also partners with existing family owners, as it did with the century-old NCCO in 2026.

Because Gallant runs a hands-on improvement plan at each company, an owner should ask what changes it expects in the first year and who will make them. A founder offered rollover equity in a platform like Arctiq should also ask how long Gallant expects to hold it and what a later sale would look like.

Questions owners ask

Does Gallant buy IT services and managed security companies?

Yes. IT services and cybersecurity are named focus areas, and its Arctiq platform runs managed security from around-the-clock operations centers in the US and Canada. Arctiq added Summit Partners in November 2024, Verinext in February 2026 and Shadow-Soft in March 2026.

What size company does Gallant look for?

Its criteria call for control investments in companies with EBITDA of up to $40 million and equity investments of $15 million to $200 million. It does not publish a minimum, so smaller businesses are more likely to fit as add-ons to platforms such as Arctiq or Pro-Vac.

Does Gallant invest in environmental or infrastructure services?

Yes. Environmental, facility and infrastructure services are on its business services list, and it has owned Pro-Vac since 2022. Pro-Vac provides hydro excavation, stormwater and sewer maintenance, pipe inspection and vacuum sweeping, and bought Kinetic in Colorado in 2024.

Will Gallant buy a division from a larger company?

Yes. Corporate divestitures are part of its stated criteria. Gallant called its 2025 Altify purchase its third corporate carve-out in about a year, following UL Solutions' payments testing business and Navient's government services unit.
