What LongueVue Capital buys

LongueVue Capital, which calls itself LVC, is a New Orleans private equity firm founded in 2001 by Rick Rees and John McNamara, with a second office in West Palm Beach. It reports more than $1 billion of assets under management across four funds; the most recent, LVC IV, closed at $360 million in October 2022. LVC looks for U.S. companies with at least $15 million of sales and $3 million of EBITDA. Its target sectors are healthcare, transportation and logistics, precision manufacturing, industrial services, consumer, food and beverage, specialty packaging, and safety and security.

LVC aims to be the first institutional investor in a founder or family business, and Fund IV is focused on control positions. It works through growth capital, management buyouts, leveraged buyouts, recapitalizations and family succession deals, and it says it keeps third-party debt low. Recent platforms include Apex Dental Laboratory Group, Saelens and Customized Distribution Services. Smaller businesses often join as add-ons, as Audubon Fertility did when it became part of Fertility Specialists Network in 2025.

Greymont’s take

How LongueVue Capital fits a seller

LVC fits a founder or family that has not taken outside money before and wants a partner for the next stage rather than a quick sale. Its case studies describe working side by side with founders after closing, and its healthcare platforms show how it brings practice owners in with bigger roles: Audubon Fertility's founder became chief medical officer of the combined network. The firm also has operating partners with backgrounds in healthcare, logistics, food, packaging and industrial services who work with management.

LVC can be a patient owner; several current companies were acquired between 2016 and 2021. It often brings in a co-investor, such as Swaney Group Capital on Apex and Lake Ten Capital Partners on Customized Distribution Services. An owner should ask whether LVC will hold control alone or share it, and how much debt the deal will carry.

Questions owners ask

What size company does LongueVue Capital invest in?

Its criteria call for U.S.-based companies with sales of $15 million or more and EBITDA of $3 million or more. Smaller companies can still join one of its existing platforms as an add-on.

Which industries does LVC focus on?

Healthcare, transportation and logistics, precision manufacturing, industrial services, consumer, food and beverage, specialty packaging, and safety and security. Healthcare and logistics businesses make up a large share of its current portfolio.

Does LVC invest in family-owned businesses?

Yes. Family succession planning is one of its listed deal situations, and its fourth fund targets founder-owned lower middle market businesses where LVC is the first institutional investor. Its 2023 Global Gourmet investment was made with the second generation of family leadership.

How much capital does LongueVue Capital manage?

It reports more than $1 billion of assets under management across four funds. The most recent fund, LVC IV, closed in October 2022 at its extended hard cap of $360 million.
