What Fletch Equity buys

Fletch Equity is a Los Angeles private equity group that buys family and founder-owned service businesses in the United States and Canada and grows them through add-on acquisitions. A new platform needs at least $2 million of adjusted EBITDA, and up to about $20 million; add-ons have no minimum. Fletch takes control, buying 51% to 100% of a company, so an owner may keep a minority stake. Areas of interest include business and home services, multi-unit consumer businesses, logistics, industrial and environmental services, healthcare services, and infrastructure inspection and maintenance.

Its current companies include a commercial roofing platform in Southern California, an autism therapy provider, preschools, fitness clubs, a catering company, ship repair and oilfield services. The team grew out of Celerity Partners and says it has averaged about two add-ons per platform. For most platforms it recruits an industry operating partner, often as chair, with the seller's input. A smaller company can fit as an add-on, since those have no size floor.

Greymont’s take

How Fletch Equity fits a seller

Fletch suits the owner of a growing service business, such as a contractor, clinic group or multi-site consumer brand, who wants to sell control but stay on and build something larger. Management keeps running the company day to day, while Fletch handles lenders and leads the hunt for add-ons. It also recruits an experienced operating partner, usually as chair, and the seller helps choose that person before closing. In the San Diego ABA add-on, the co-owner stayed to run the region.

Because Fletch buys between 51% and 100%, an owner can often keep a stake and share in a later sale; its Wolf HVAC platform, for example, was sold to Turnpoint, an OMERS company, in November 2022. Owners should ask how much equity they could roll, who the operating partner would be, and where the deal's equity comes from, since the site does not describe a fund.

Questions owners ask

What size company does Fletch Equity buy?

For a new platform it wants at least $2 million of trailing adjusted EBITDA, up to about $20 million. Add-on acquisitions for its existing platforms have no minimum size.

Does Fletch Equity buy roofing companies?

Yes. In March 2026 it bought Superior Roofing and Midwest Roofing at the same time to launch a commercial roofing platform in Southern California, and it plans more acquisitions across the Southwest.

Can an owner keep part of the business after selling to Fletch?

Often, yes. Fletch says it buys between 51% and 100% of a company, so a seller may keep a minority stake while Fletch takes control.
