What Envest Capital Partners buys
Envest Capital Partners is a small Virginia Beach private equity firm, launched in 2016 by the team behind the Envest Ventures funds, which date back to 2000. It reports more than $85 million of committed capital across three funds and invests a significant amount of its own money next to its limited partners. It backs privately owned companies in basic industries: industrial, commercial and consumer services, specialty contracting, niche manufacturing, franchising, and value-added distribution and logistics.
For a new platform, Envest wants more than $1 million of EBITDA plus a record of profitable growth and steady cash flow, and it will buy add-ons of any size. It can take control or a minority stake, uses little or no debt, and has no set holding period. Current holdings include Cannon Roofing, CBT Integrated Logistics, Commonwealth Epoxy Coatings, Dominion, Bell and Williams Associates and Authentic Auto Body, a Massachusetts collision repair business it is growing through add-ons.

Greymont’s take
How Envest Capital Partners fits a seller
Envest suits owners of smaller, steady businesses, from about $1 million of EBITDA, who want to sell all or part of the company without loading it with debt or working to a fixed exit date. Because it uses little or no leverage and can buy a minority stake, an owner can take some money off the table and keep a share of the upside.
In collision repair, Envest is building Authentic Auto Body in Massachusetts. Its founder sold to Envest and still runs the shops, and in September 2025 Envest said it was aiming for five Massachusetts shops within a year. With a capital base of about $85 million, Envest writes small checks, so an owner should ask how much money is left for their deal and for later add-ons, which fund it would come from, and who on the current team would sit on the board.
Questions owners ask
Does Envest Capital Partners buy collision repair shops?
Yes. It owns Authentic Auto Body, a collision repair business in Holliston, Massachusetts, and in 2025 added a second shop in Dartmouth, Massachusetts, its first add-on for that platform.
How large is Envest?
It reports more than $85 million of committed capital across three funds, and it invests a significant amount of its own money alongside its limited partners. Envest says it has invested in more than 40 private US companies since it was founded.
Does Envest use a lot of debt in its deals?
No. Its strategy page says it uses little to no leverage and has no defined holding period, so it can keep a company for the long term.
