What Boyne Capital Partners buys

Boyne Capital is a Miami firm, based in Coconut Grove, that has invested in lower middle market companies since 2006. It calls itself a generalist that works through themes, and its current list covers business services, consumer products and services, healthcare services, industrials and niche manufacturing, utility and infrastructure services, environmental services, water and wastewater, energy efficiency, government services and agriculture. About half of its deals have been recapitalizations of owner-run businesses; the rest are corporate carve-outs, restructurings and special situations.

The size target is $10 million to $100 million of revenue, and its recent releases add EBITDA of $3 million to $15 million, in the United States and Canada. Boyne prefers control and likes the current managers to stay, though it does not require it. It also funds add-ons, growth capital and the odd minority deal, such as its stake in SageWater alongside Grindstone Partners. Several current companies are openly looking for add-ons, including CloudSafe in managed IT and cloud hosting, H&B Facility Services in commercial cleaning, and Pinnacle in Southeast home roofing and windows.

Greymont’s take

How Boyne Capital Partners fits a seller

Boyne suits founders and families who want to take money off the table but keep running the company, especially in consumer brands, building and infrastructure services, and niche manufacturing. Many of its deals are recapitalizations where the founder stays: the Local Boy Outfitters CEO remained a major shareholder in May 2026, and the McNish deal gave its owners a succession plan. Boyne also partners with independent sponsors, as with Fifth Ocean Capital at Blue Monkey.

Its exits show what a full cycle can look like. McKee Utility, a family-run water pipeline contractor recapitalized in 2022, sold to MasTec in March 2026 at a $276 million enterprise value after revenue more than doubled. Boyne has also used a continuation fund to keep backing Pilot Energy for longer. Owners should ask how much equity they will keep, what Boyne's operations and recruiting teams plan to change, and how long it expects to hold.

Questions owners ask

What size companies does Boyne Capital invest in?

Its criteria page lists $10 million to $100 million of annual revenue, and its 2025 and 2026 press releases describe a target of $3 million to $15 million of EBITDA. It invests in the United States and Canada.

Does Boyne buy founder-owned businesses?

Yes. It says about half of its transactions have been recapitalizations of owner-operated businesses. Recent examples include founder-led Local Boy Outfitters in May 2026 and H&B Facility Services, whose founder partnered with Boyne to start a commercial cleaning platform.

Does Boyne invest in IT services companies?

It owns CloudSafe, a St. Augustine, Florida provider of managed IT infrastructure and cloud hosting. Boyne's portfolio page says CloudSafe is looking for add-ons in cloud hosting, backup and disaster recovery services.

Has Boyne sold any companies recently?

Yes. It sold Double Wood Supplements to Gryphon Investors in January 2026 and McKee Utility Contractors to MasTec in March 2026, the second at a $276 million enterprise value.
