What Bochi Investments buys

Bochi Investments is a Lake Oswego, Oregon firm, started in 2019, that buys founder and family-owned companies only in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana. It looks for established lower middle market businesses with roughly $2 million to $10 million of EBITDA in three areas: industrial and manufacturing, business services, and consumer goods and services. Most of its recent deals are succession or recapitalization transactions in which an owner wants to step back or take money off the table.

Bochi calls itself a private equity firm, but its capital partners describe it as an independent sponsor, meaning it lines up money deal by deal. In its 2025 and 2026 deals, SBIC funds such as Cyprium Partners and Seacoast Capital supplied debt and minority equity next to Bochi. Recent platforms include Superior Fruit Equipment, Willamette Valley Meat, Diversified Marine and Rottler Manufacturing, and its 3D content company KitBash3D has made add-ons. A smaller Northwest company could meet Bochi as a new platform or as an add-on to one of these companies.

Greymont’s take

How Bochi Investments fits a seller

Bochi fits Northwest owners, especially in manufacturing, food and consumer products, who care about keeping the business local and want a buyer that stays involved without running daily operations. Its partners live in Oregon and several have run consumer companies. In the Rottler deal, the third-generation CEO kept an ownership stake and a longtime employee became president. Because Bochi lines up equity and mezzanine money for each deal rather than drawing on a committed fund, an owner should ask early who is providing the capital, how firm that financing is, and how much of the price comes as cash at closing versus seller notes or rolled equity. It is also worth asking how long Bochi expects to own the business and what kind of buyer it sees after that.

Questions owners ask

Where does Bochi Investments invest?

Only in the Pacific Northwest. Its criteria page limits the firm to businesses located in Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Montana, and every company on its portfolio page is based in Oregon or Washington.

What size company does Bochi look for?

Established lower middle market businesses with about $2 million to $10 million of EBITDA, in industrial and manufacturing, business services, or consumer goods and services.

Does Bochi invest from its own fund?

Its co-investors describe Bochi as an independent sponsor. In the Willamette Valley Meat and Rottler deals, Cyprium Partners and two other SBIC funds provided debt and equity, and Seacoast Capital did the same for Superior Fruit Equipment.

Does the owner stay involved after a sale to Bochi?

Often in some form. In the June 2026 Rottler recapitalization, the third-generation CEO kept an ownership stake and stayed involved in product development, and a longtime employee was promoted to president.
