What Sidereal Capital Group buys
Sidereal Capital Group is a private equity firm in Summit, New Jersey that buys control of lower middle market manufacturers and business or industrial service companies. It targets companies with $3 million to $10 million of EBITDA, margins above 10 percent and enterprise values of $15 million to $60 million, and it puts in $8 million to $25 million of equity per deal. It looks across the United States and Canada. The firm often acts as the first institutional investor in a family- or founder-owned company, and it names handoffs between generations, buyouts of scattered shareholders, management-led deals and corporate carve-outs as situations it likes. It expects the seller to reinvest a meaningful amount.
Once it owns a company in a niche, Sidereal follows a buy-and-build plan and sets no minimum size for add-ons, which is the likeliest way in for a small business. Current holdings include makers of refractory anchors, hardwood flooring and adhesives, an electronics recycler, an appraisal management company and a servicer of cash-handling equipment.

Greymont’s take
How Sidereal Capital Group fits a seller
Sidereal fits owners of a family or founder business that has never taken outside money and needs help moving from owner-run to professionally managed. Its criteria give weight to things other than price, such as succession between generations or buying out a mix of family shareholders, and it expects the seller to roll a meaningful share of the proceeds back in. Because the firm takes control, an owner should expect a new board, upgraded finance and reporting systems and, where needed, new managers to fill gaps.
For electronics recyclers and IT asset disposition firms in the Northeast, the clearest path is an add-on to EWASTE+, which bought Take 2 Recycling in Connecticut in June 2025. Sidereal posts no news on its own site and its portfolio page was last updated in 2024, so an owner should ask which holdings are still current and whether the firm invests from a committed fund or raises money deal by deal.
