What Shore Capital Partners buys
Shore Capital Partners is a Chicago firm that invests in small and lower middle market companies through separate funds for healthcare, food and beverage, business services, industrials and real estate. Each fund works from a list of niches it has researched. In healthcare that includes home health and hospice, applied behavior analysis, revenue cycle management and benefits cost containment. In business services it includes pest control, accounting, insurance distribution, outsourced legal work and data and AI system integrators. In industrials it includes overhead doors, utility services, onsite power, traffic safety and industrial automation. The firm reports about $17 billion of assets under management.
Most new platforms have $1 million to $10 million of EBITDA and about $5 million to $100 million of revenue, or up to $200 million in healthcare. The Healthcare Advantage Fund goes larger, at $10 million to $50 million of EBITDA. Add-ons need only about $1 million of revenue and have no EBITDA minimum, so very small owner-run companies can join an existing Shore platform such as NestCore Partners, Courser or Skycrest Roof.

Greymont’s take
How Shore Capital Partners fits a seller
Shore is one of the most active buyers of small companies in the country; it says PitchBook ranked it first in private equity deal volume from 2019 to 2023. For a small business the most likely path is joining an existing platform as an add-on, which needs only about $1 million of revenue. Owners of community association management firms (NestCore Partners), managed IT providers (Courser), pest control companies (AXN Growth Partners), roofers (Skycrest) or commercial HVAC and plumbing contractors (Comfort Temp, Ackerman) have a direct way in.
Shore puts an independent board around each platform and sometimes brings in a new chief executive, as it did at Dillard in August 2025 while the company's president stayed involved. Owners should ask who will run the business after closing, how much equity they will roll over, and which Shore fund would hold the company and for how long.
Questions owners ask
Does Shore Capital buy HOA or community association management companies?
Yes. Its business services fund backs NestCore Partners, a community association management platform with a growing footprint in Florida, Illinois and North Carolina that partners with established local management firms. Shore has backed the business since December 2023.
Does Shore Capital invest in IT services?
Yes. Courser, a Greenville, South Carolina managed IT services provider for small and mid-sized businesses, has been a Shore company since March 2022. In September 2025 Shore also formed a technology advisory platform by combining CXponent, Ascenda, Trace Advisors and White Oak Solutions.
What size company does Shore Capital look for?
Most new platforms have $1 million to $10 million of EBITDA. Add-ons need about $1 million of revenue and have no EBITDA minimum, while the Healthcare Advantage Fund targets larger companies with $10 million to $50 million of EBITDA.
Does Shore Capital buy roofing and HVAC companies?
Yes, through its industrials fund. It launched Skycrest Roof, a Denver residential roofing platform, in January 2025, partnered with Sarasota commercial plumber Ackerman the same month, and added Gainesville, Florida HVAC and plumbing contractor Comfort Temp in August 2025.
