What Riverarch Equity Partners buys

Riverarch Equity Partners is a Pittsburgh firm, founded in 2011 and called PNC Riverarch Capital until 2024, that serves as the private equity arm of PNC Financial Services. For a new platform it wants an established, profitable company in North America or Europe with $5 million to $30 million of EBITDA and an enterprise value of up to $300 million, and it invests $25 million to $150 million of equity. Its focus areas are high-margin distribution, food and beverage, business and consumer services, franchising and specialized manufacturing. It is investing from a $1.0 billion fourth fund closed in March 2024, and it counts $1.7 billion invested across 40 platforms and more than 130 add-ons.

Most current holdings are distributors, food brands and franchisors, with newer platforms in pest control and early childhood education. Add-ons carry no EBITDA minimum, so a smaller company is most likely to meet Riverarch through a platform such as Fortress Pest Brands, which wants pest, termite and mosquito control companies in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast, or Grupo Chilero, which added Tadin Herb & Tea in 2026.

Greymont’s take

How Riverarch Equity Partners fits a seller

Riverarch fits owners of profitable distribution, food, franchise or specialty manufacturing businesses who want a well-funded partner that leaves daily operations to management. The firm says it fully trusts management to run the company and supports growth through acquisitions. Owners below its $5 million EBITDA floor can still sell to one of its platforms, since add-ons have no minimum. Pest control owners in Maryland, Virginia, the Carolinas and nearby states are the clearest example: Fortress Pest Brands was formed in 2026 to buy more brands and is led by the former CEO of Authority Brands, an earlier Riverarch franchise investment. Owners who plan to roll over equity should ask how long Riverarch usually holds a company and who the likely next buyer is. FORTA, for example, more than tripled in size under Riverarch before its 2026 sale to The Heritage Group.

Questions owners ask

What size companies does Riverarch invest in?

For a new platform it looks for $5 million to $30 million of EBITDA and an enterprise value of up to $300 million, investing $25 million to $150 million of equity. Add-on acquisitions for its existing companies have no EBITDA minimum.

Is Riverarch part of PNC?

Yes. Riverarch is the private equity affiliate of The PNC Financial Services Group, which owns the Riverarch name. Its fourth fund in 2024 was backed by PNC, with the investment team committing 4 percent.

Is Riverarch buying pest control companies?

Yes. In June 2026 it announced Fortress Pest Brands, formed by merging Senate Termite & Pest Control and The Neuse Termite and Pest Control, and Fortress is seeking pest, termite and mosquito control add-ons in the Mid-Atlantic and Southeast.

Did Riverarch change its name?

Yes. It operated as PNC Riverarch Capital until March 2024, when it took the Riverarch Equity Partners name at the same time it closed its $1.0 billion fourth fund.
