What Kian Capital buys

Kian Capital Partners is a lower middle market investor with offices in Atlanta and Charlotte and about $1.1 billion under management. Its focus today is essential services, such as landscaping, auto repair, fueling station service, fence and gate work and practice management for doctors, plus value-added distribution such as HVAC equipment wholesaling. It looks for companies with $10 million to $100 million of revenue and $3 million to $15 million of EBITDA, and puts $15 million to $40 million into each deal.

Kian is flexible on structure. It can own a majority or a minority of a company, it puts both equity and debt into its deals, and it will do buyouts, recapitalizations and growth financings. It wants to be the first outside investor in a founder-owned business. A smaller company is most likely to meet Kian as an add-on: Integrity Landscape, PARC Auto, SPATCO and Perimeter Holdings USA have each said publicly that they want to buy more businesses.

Greymont’s take

How Kian Capital fits a seller

Kian suits founders who have never taken outside money and want a partner that can do either a majority sale or a minority deal. Because it mixes equity and debt, an owner can take cash out while keeping a real stake, and Kian says its equity goes in on the same terms as management's. Recent deals show founders staying involved: the Integrity Landscape founder kept a stake and a board seat, and the Arizona Outdoor Designs founder stayed on with his whole leadership team.

For owners of landscaping, auto repair, fence and gate or fueling service businesses, selling to an existing Kian platform as an add-on is a realistic path. Owners should ask how much of the deal will be debt rather than equity, and how long Kian expects to hold the business, since it used a continuation fund in 2024 to keep SPATCO longer.

Questions owners ask

What size company does Kian Capital look for?

Its published profile targets companies with $10 million to $100 million of revenue and $3 million to $15 million of EBITDA. It typically invests $15 million to $40 million in each deal.

Does Kian Capital buy auto repair shops?

Yes. In 2023 it launched PARC Auto by buying a Meineke Car Care Center franchisee in Louisville. By August 2024 PARC had 35 locations and was looking for more Meineke franchisees and independent general repair shops to join.

Will Kian take a minority stake instead of buying the whole company?

Yes. Kian says it can be a majority or a minority owner and invests both debt and equity in every deal. It does buyouts, recapitalizations and growth financings, and aims to be the first institutional investor in a founder-owned business.

Is Kian buying landscaping companies?

Yes. It backs Diamond Landscaping, a luxury residential platform that added Arizona Outdoor Designs in November 2025 and Christensen Landscape Services in February 2026. In October 2026 it bought Integrity Landscape, a commercial landscaping platform in the San Francisco Bay Area.
