What Inyarek Partners buys

Inyarek Partners is a private equity firm in Dedham, Massachusetts, outside Boston, founded by three partners who have invested together in energy businesses for nearly 20 years. It backs owner-led and management-led companies in energy and industrial services, and it favors essential services with recurring revenue, growing demand and little regulatory risk. Its home page sets the bar at more than $3 million of EBITDA and EBITDA margins above 15 percent. When it launched publicly in February 2024, it said it targets equity investments of $50 million to $150 million.

Inyarek tends to build a platform around an experienced operator and then buy smaller companies under it. In January 2026 it launched Guardian Propane Partners, run by a longtime propane executive, with the purchase of F.A. Days & Sons, a family propane and heating oil supplier on Cape Cod. Guardian plans more deals with local propane companies, so a small family-owned propane distributor is most likely to meet Inyarek through that platform. Its other holding, Redtail Renewables, develops landfill renewable natural gas projects.

Greymont’s take

How Inyarek Partners fits a seller

Inyarek is a natural buyer for owners of local propane and heating fuel distributors who want a succession plan and want their brand and staff kept. Guardian Propane says it aims to keep local names and teams while adding capital, safety systems and operating support, and at F.A. Days & Sons the third-generation family leader is taking on a larger role after the sale. Owners of other essential energy or industrial service businesses with steady, recurring revenue may also fit its criteria.

The firm is young: it says it has closed five transactions since it began, and its site lists two companies. Its launch release said it would invest through both deal-specific vehicles and pooled funds, so an owner should ask where the equity for a given deal comes from, how much say the founder keeps, and when Inyarek expects to sell the platform.

Questions owners ask

What size business does Inyarek Partners look for?

Its home page lists more than $3 million of EBITDA and EBITDA margins above 15 percent, with a preference for owner-led companies. Its February 2024 launch release put its target equity investments at $50 million to $150 million.

Does Inyarek buy family-owned propane companies?

Yes, through Guardian Propane Partners. The platform launched in January 2026 by buying F.A. Days & Sons, a Cape Cod propane and heating oil supplier with more than 55 years of history, and says it will keep partnering with established local propane businesses.

What other energy businesses has Inyarek backed?

In 2023 it made an equity commitment to Redtail Renewables, which develops and runs landfill renewable natural gas projects. In September 2025 Redtail formed a joint venture with Pacolet Milliken that bought a project in Kentucky.
