What Auxo Investment Partners buys
Auxo Investment Partners is a Grand Rapids, Michigan firm that buys founder- and family-owned manufacturing, industrial and business services companies, most often when the owner is planning to retire or pass the business on. Its criteria call for North American companies with $2 million to $20 million of EBITDA in manufacturing, industrial, value-added distribution, transportation or business services. It prefers to take majority control but will look at some minority deals. Its money comes from the partners and a group of families and private investors, so it is not tied to a fixed exit date.
Auxo also manages the $100 million Michigan Opportunity Fund, backed by Michigan families, which targets Michigan companies in a wider set of fields, including healthcare, technology and consumer products, and can use minority equity or subordinated debt. Most current holdings are niche manufacturers grouped into platforms such as Precision Products Group, which bought Monadnock Non-Wovens in October 2026, and Genesis Rail. A smaller company is likely to meet Auxo as an add-on to one of those platforms.

Greymont’s take
How Auxo Investment Partners fits a seller
Auxo suits a Midwest manufacturing or industrial owner who wants to retire or hand off the business without selling to a competitor. The May 2025 Bay Cast deal is a typical example: a family-run Michigan foundry where three members of the Holman family were quoted welcoming the partnership. Because Auxo's capital has no fixed fund life, it says it can hold companies for the long run, and its Michigan fund allows for permanent ownership.
Auxo does sell, though. It sold Andrie to Rand Logistics in 2024, and the Ferrovia rail vegetation business went to Secovia Capital in 2026. An owner should ask how long Auxo expects to hold the company, and whether it will stand alone or be folded into a group such as Precision Products Group, where it would sit alongside other acquired brands.
Questions owners ask
What size company does Auxo Investment Partners look for?
Its criteria call for $2 million to $20 million of EBITDA, the same range its Michigan Opportunity Fund uses. It looks at North American companies in manufacturing, industrial, value-added distribution, transportation and business services.
Does Auxo only invest in Michigan?
No. Its main criteria cover North America, and its companies include businesses in Ohio, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin and Canada. Its separate $100 million Michigan Opportunity Fund invests only in Michigan companies, though it can make add-ons outside the state.
Will Auxo take a minority stake?
Auxo prefers majority control but says it will consider select minority partnerships. Its Michigan fund lists a wider set of options, including minority equity, subordinated debt and distressed situations.
