What Columbia River Partners buys

Columbia River Partners (CRP) is a Seattle private equity firm, formed in 2019, that buys control of lower middle market companies serving the technology economy: IT and software support services, technology distributors and resellers, integrators, manufacturers and consulting firms. It targets $10 million to $300 million of revenue, up to $50 million of EBITDA and enterprise values up to $250 million, mostly in North America with some interest in Europe. Besides founder and family buyouts and recapitalizations, it seeks corporate carve-outs and other complex or underperforming situations. It does not back pure software companies, startups or growth equity.

CRP says it has deployed more than $200 million across seven platforms and 16 transactions, and its releases show co-investors such as Tecum Capital, Everside Capital and Centerfield Capital joining its deals. Platforms include managed IT provider CCS, NetSuite consultant Business Solution Partners, Chromebook maker CTL, fiber cable maker TiniFiber and testing lab TRP Laboratories. A smaller company is most likely to meet CRP as an add-on: CCS alone has bought five IT services firms since late 2023.

Greymont’s take

How Columbia River Partners fits a seller

CRP fits two kinds of seller best. The first is the owner of a managed IT, IT consulting or ERP implementation firm that could join CCS or Business Solution Partners as an add-on. CCS has kept buying since 2023, and in the January 2026 eKeeper deal the founder stayed on to run his region. The second is a corporation selling a non-core technology or testing unit, since CRP names divestitures and carve-outs as a focus and built TRP Laboratories from a unit SGS sold in 2023.

Owners of a healthy founder-led company should know that CRP usually brings outside investors and lenders into each deal alongside its own capital. Ask who will hold the equity, how much debt the deal will carry, and whether the business would stand alone or be merged into an existing platform.

Questions owners ask

Does Columbia River Partners buy managed IT service providers?

Yes. Its platform CCS, a managed IT and security provider based in Hauppauge, New York, has added Net Activity, Clarity Technology Group, Local Stratus, Info Solutions and, in January 2026, eKeeper Systems of Indiana.

What size company does Columbia River Partners look for?

Its criteria list $10 million to $300 million of revenue, EBITDA up to $50 million and enterprise value up to $250 million. It says it will look at underperforming businesses as well as performing ones.

Will Columbia River Partners buy a division from a larger company?

Yes. Corporate divestitures and carve-outs are a stated focus. TRP Laboratories began as the US powertrain testing operations that SGS agreed to sell to CRP in October 2023.

Does Columbia River Partners own an electronics recycling business?

Through an add-on, yes. In April 2025 its Chromebook maker CTL bought 3R Technology, an IT asset disposition and R2v3-certified electronics recycling company in Kent, Washington.
