What Broadtree Partners buys
Broadtree Partners is a Charlotte, North Carolina private equity firm, with a second office near Charleston, that buys majority stakes in privately held US companies. Its posted targets are $1 million to $10 million of EBITDA, $5 million to $75 million of revenue, EBITDA margins of 10% or more and at least three years of profits. Its releases name business services, government services, healthcare services and technology as its focus, and its current holdings range from a Google Cloud consulting firm and a Durham plumbing contractor to telecom fiber services, defense contracting, marketing and precision parts.
The model is built around operators. In most deals a Broadtree operating partner becomes CEO, or co-CEO next to the existing leader, and the firm then adds smaller companies to the platform, as Triage Partners did three times in 2026. By September 2026 Broadtree counted 17 platforms and 38 total acquisitions. It works both with owners who want to step back and with owners who want help to grow.

Greymont’s take
How Broadtree Partners fits a seller
Broadtree suits the owner of a profitable services business, roughly $5 million to $75 million in revenue, who is ready to hand over the top job. The pattern is consistent: at ACME Plumbing and The CFO Project a Broadtree operating partner became CEO while the sellers moved into advisory or supporting roles, and at Suitebriar the existing CEO stayed on as co-CEO. That makes it a natural fit for a retirement or succession sale, and a weaker one for an owner who wants to keep running daily operations alone.
IT services owners can look at Suitebriar and the 2025 sale of Salesforce partner ListEngage to Tata Consultancy Services. An owner should ask to meet the proposed CEO early, and should ask about holding period, since in 2026 Broadtree moved four companies into a continuation fund instead of selling them.
Questions owners ask
What size company does Broadtree Partners buy?
Its posted criteria are $1 million to $10 million of EBITDA and $5 million to $75 million of revenue, with EBITDA margins of 10% or more and at least three years of profitability. It takes a majority stake.
Who runs the company after Broadtree buys it?
Usually a Broadtree operating partner. At ACME Plumbing and The CFO Project an operating partner became the new CEO, and at Suitebriar an operating partner became co-CEO alongside the existing chief executive.
Does Broadtree buy IT services companies?
Yes. In March 2026 it bought Suitebriar, a Google Cloud Premier Partner that handles Workspace migrations, cloud modernization and AI projects. In October 2025 it sold Salesforce consulting partner ListEngage to Tata Consultancy Services.
Does Broadtree make add-on acquisitions?
Yes. Its telecom services platform Triage Partners added Benton Technical Services and J. Carlson Services in January 2026 and Universal Network Development Corporation in September 2026, building toward end-to-end fiber network services.
