What Albaron Partners buys

Albaron Partners is a New York private equity firm, founded in 2017, that invests only in healthcare services. It looks for founder- or physician-owned companies in North America with $1 million to $10 million of EBITDA, a strong market position, a capable management team and steady demand. Beyond medical practices, it will look at businesses that serve providers and patients, such as equipment servicing, device rental, staffing, labs and logistics. In May 2026 it closed its first blind-pool fund, Albaron Healthcare Opportunities I, at its $185 million hard cap, and its website reports more than $200 million under management.

Founders and physicians keep significant equity alongside Albaron on the same terms, and physicians keep control of clinical decisions while the firm runs the business side. Albaron has made six platform investments, in vein care, podiatry, fertility, psychiatry, interventional radiology and home infusion, across 47 transactions in total. It grows each platform with add-on practices and also funds healthcare deals that independent sponsors bring to it.

Greymont’s take

How Albaron Partners fits a seller

Albaron fits physicians and founders of healthcare services businesses who want to sell part of the company now and keep a real stake for a later, larger sale. Physicians are encouraged to roll a meaningful share of their proceeds and keep control of patient care, while Albaron takes on payers, recruiting, acquisitions and infrastructure. Its exits show what that second sale can look like: Beyond Podiatry went to CUC in 2024 at an $87 million valuation, and Prime Psychiatry went to Beacon Behavioral Partners in 2026. Practices too small to anchor a platform may fit as add-ons, as the three Vital Care pharmacies did in January 2026. Owners should ask how much of the proceeds Albaron expects them to roll over and how long it usually holds a platform before selling.

Questions owners ask

What size companies does Albaron invest in?

Its criteria call for North American healthcare and healthcare services companies with $1 million to $10 million of EBITDA. A January 2026 release gave the range as $2 million to $10 million.

Do physicians keep control of patient care?

Yes. Albaron says physicians keep full control over clinical and patient care decisions, hold significant equity on the same terms as the firm, and share in the value when the platform is sold.

Does Albaron work with independent sponsors?

Yes. It invites independent sponsors to bring healthcare services deals at any stage, funds them from its $185 million committed fund with no financing contingency, and says its deal terms reflect the sponsor's sourcing work.

Which companies has Albaron sold?

It reports three platform exits: Metro Vein Centers, held from 2017 to 2021; Beyond Podiatry, sold to CUC in 2024; and Prime Psychiatry, sold to Beacon Behavioral Partners in September 2026.
