What Seidler Equity Partners buys
Seidler Equity Partners is a Marina del Rey, California firm that grew out of a family office. Since 1992 it has made more than 70 partnerships, and it reports about $8 billion of assets under management as of May 2026. It backs founder-led companies in consumer brands, multi-site services (car washes, fitness clubs, aesthetic clinics, franchisors), manufacturing and chemicals, healthcare and business services. Its US funds invest in the United States and Canada, and a separate Sydney office covers Australia and New Zealand.
What sets Seidler apart is how it invests. It usually takes 30% to 70% of a company and is a minority owner in more than half of its partnerships, so founders can keep control. It uses little debt (average leverage under 2.0x EBITDA at entry, and more than 40% of its deals use none), charges its companies no fees, and can hold for ten years or more. It does not publish revenue or EBITDA minimums. Its companies have made more than 100 add-on acquisitions.

Greymont’s take
How Seidler Equity Partners fits a seller
Seidler suits a founder who wants to take some money off the table and gain a partner, but does not want a new boss. Its founder stories describe owners who kept control of the company and the board. Quick Quack's founders used Seidler's money to keep control, buy out early investors and fund new car washes, and Seidler later made two follow-on investments. KW Property Management's founders also kept control and, at their request, the partnership was kept confidential.
Because Seidler is often a minority holder, the founder's plans usually drive the timing of any sale. At KW, Seidler helped the company make its first acquisition and later supported a deal with a European property management firm. Owners should ask what rights Seidler would have as a minority holder, such as board seats and a vote on a future sale, and how and when Seidler expects to get its money back.
Questions owners ask
Will Seidler take a minority stake?
Yes. Seidler says it is a minority owner in more than half of its partnerships and usually holds between 30% and 70% of a company. It will also buy a majority stake when that suits the owner's goals and capital needs.
Does Seidler charge fees to the companies it invests in?
No. Seidler says it charges no board, closing, management or monitoring fees to its partner companies, and presents this as a way to keep its interests lined up with the founder's.
Has Seidler invested in car washes or property management?
Yes. It is an investor in Quick Quack Car Wash, a Sacramento operator of nearly 200 express car washes. It has also backed two property managers, Apartment Management Consultants and KW Property Management & Consulting, both now listed as exited.
How long does Seidler hold an investment?
It offers holds of three to five years or more than ten, depending on what the owner wants. One founder story on its site describes a 15-year partnership in which the company's EBITDA grew from about $5 million to nearly $50 million.
