What Interlock Equity buys
Interlock Equity is a Los Angeles private equity firm, founded in 2021, that backs what it calls people-based businesses: B2B and healthcare service companies whose main asset is their staff. Its target list covers professional staffing, strategy and management consulting, life sciences services, digital and tech-enabled services, marketing services and healthcare services. It wants profitable companies with $15 million to $150 million of revenue that are growing at least 10% a year, prefers North American businesses, and favors companies still owned by their founders or managers. Its first fund closed in September 2023 at more than $390 million.
Interlock calls its deals strategic growth investments, and its releases do not say whether it takes majority control. After it invests, the existing leaders usually keep running the company and Interlock funds add-on acquisitions, such as Lovelytics buying Datalytics and merging with Nousot in 2025, and VeloSource buying Quest and Syncx in 2026. A firm below $15 million of revenue is most likely to meet Interlock as an add-on to one of its five current platforms.

Greymont’s take
How Interlock Equity fits a seller
Interlock suits owners of consulting, data and technology services, staffing or healthcare workforce businesses who want a buyer that weighs culture as heavily as the numbers. Its own site puts values and culture ahead of financials, and its deals so far have left the founding leaders in charge: at VeloSource, one founder stayed on as CEO while the other moved to the board, and evolv Consulting kept its existing team. Most of its platforms go on to buy similar firms, so an owner should expect an active add-on program after closing.
With one fund of about $390 million and five platforms, Interlock is a small, focused buyer. Owners should ask how much of the company Interlock would own, since its releases never say, and how much room is left in the first fund for new platforms rather than add-ons.
Questions owners ask
What size company does Interlock Equity look for?
Its criteria call for profitable companies with $15 million to $150 million of revenue that are growing at least 10% a year, with a preference for North American businesses owned by founders or management.
Does Interlock buy IT services or data consulting firms?
Yes. Three of its five current platforms are technology services firms: Lovelytics, a Databricks data and AI consultancy; evolv Consulting, a data and digital consulting firm; and Apply Digital, a digital transformation partner. Lovelytics added Datalytics and Nousot in 2025.
Does Interlock invest in staffing companies?
Yes. Professional staffing is on its target list. In September 2025 it made a growth investment in VeloSource, a St. Louis locum tenens staffing firm, which then bought Quest Locum Tenens and Syncx in June 2026.
