What Endeavour Capital buys
Endeavour Capital is a Portland, Oregon firm, founded in 1991, that invests in founder and family-owned companies, mainly in the western United States, from offices in Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles and Denver. It works in four areas: business services, consumer, healthcare and industrials. Its published target is a company earning $10 million to $50 million a year, with an equity investment of $35 million to $100 million. It will buy a majority or a minority stake, usually holds for 5 to 12 years, and uses 0 to 3 times EBITDA of debt, well below a typical buyout.
Its latest fund is the $850 million Fund VIII, closed in March 2022. Recent deals have also reached past the West, including Mallory Alexander in Memphis. A company below $10 million of earnings is unlikely to become a new Endeavour platform. The realistic route is an add-on: Endeavour counts more than 100 add-on acquisitions by its companies, and current holdings such as Omega Morgan, Mallory Alexander and Array plan to grow by buying smaller firms.

Greymont’s take
How Endeavour Capital fits a seller
Endeavour suits owners who want to take some money off the table without handing the company to a heavily leveraged buyer. Its pitch is patience: long holds, light debt and the option of selling only a minority stake. When it invested in Slick City in August 2026, the CEO kept his full ownership and Endeavour bought out early investors instead. Expect a long courtship, too: the firm says it likes to know founders years before a deal, and it knew Omega Morgan for more than 15 years before investing.
Size is the main hurdle. Companies earning less than $10 million fall below its stated range, so most smaller owners will meet Endeavour as an add-on to one of its companies. Owners should ask which fund would back the deal, since the latest one closed in 2022, and how long the firm expects to hold.
Questions owners ask
What size company does Endeavour Capital invest in?
Its focus areas page lists typical investments in companies with $10 million to $50 million of earnings, with equity investments of $35 million to $100 million and holds of 5 to 12 years.
Will Endeavour take a minority stake?
Yes. Its approach page counts 20 minority investments, and in August 2026 it made a minority investment in Slick City Action Park while the CEO kept his full ownership.
Does Endeavour only invest in the western US?
Its stated strategy is companies headquartered in the West, near its Portland, Seattle, Los Angeles and Denver offices. Some recent deals have reached farther, including Mallory Alexander in Memphis in October 2025.
How can a company too small for Endeavour still sell to it?
Usually as an add-on. Endeavour says its companies have made more than 100 add-on acquisitions, and in October 2024 Nordic Cold Chain Solutions bought Minus Works, a small cold chain packaging maker.
