What Crescentia Capital buys
Crescentia Capital is the buyout arm of Calvert Street Investment Partners, a Maryland firm that has backed lower middle market companies since 1995. The buyout business took the Crescentia name in March 2024. It makes control investments in three areas: industrial services, infrastructure services and specialty manufacturing. Its team reports more than $695 million invested, including co-investment, across more than 70 companies. It chooses sub-sectors through its own research and industry advisors, then has those executives contact owners directly, which it says often leads to deals outside of auctions.
It typically invests in companies with $3 million to $15 million of EBITDA that have recurring demand, strong cash flow and a fragmented market to consolidate. Sellers often keep a significant minority stake and a key role. Recent platforms include a Southeast commercial door and loading dock service company and a national underwater diving services firm. A smaller company is most likely to meet Crescentia as an add-on, like the East Tennessee Overhead Door distributor that joined C&D Industrial Maintenance in September 2026.

Greymont’s take
How Crescentia Capital fits a seller
Crescentia suits owners of field service and specialty manufacturing businesses with $3 million or more of EBITDA who want backing to grow through acquisitions, and owners of smaller service companies that could join one of its platforms. Its usual pattern is to start with one company, add several acquisitions and then sell to a large strategic buyer. TechPro Power Group went to Integrated Power Services in January 2026 after seven add-ons, and Terra Nova Solutions went to Clean Harbors in May 2026 after three.
Founders often keep their roles at closing, as the CEOs of C&D and Underwater Construction did, but Crescentia also brings in new executives, and C&D had a different CEO by September 2026. An owner who keeps a stake should ask about leadership plans and the expected hold period: its two latest exits came eight to nine years after the platform was formed.
Questions owners ask
What size companies does Crescentia Capital invest in?
It typically makes control investments in companies with $3 million to $15 million of EBITDA. Smaller businesses can join an existing platform as an add-on, as the Overhead Door Company of Knoxville did with C&D Industrial Maintenance in September 2026.
Is Crescentia Capital the same firm as Calvert Street?
Crescentia is the equity buyout business of Calvert Street Investment Partners. Until March 2024 the firm operated as Calvert Street Capital Partners, and its separate mezzanine and minority equity business is called Parkway Capital.
Does Crescentia buy environmental or waste services companies?
It has. It formed Terra Nova Solutions in 2018, grew it to five permitted industrial waste facilities in the Carolinas, and sold it to Clean Harbors in May 2026. It also owns All Clear Underground Solutions, which repairs and maintains water and wastewater pipes in Florida.
Can the owner keep a stake after selling to Crescentia?
Yes. Crescentia says its deals often let sellers keep a significant minority ownership position and a key role in the business while also taking some cash out.
