What Webster Equity Partners buys

Webster Equity Partners is a private equity firm in Waltham, Massachusetts, founded in 2003, that invests only in healthcare. It looks for patient-focused businesses in five practice areas: physician practice management, post-acute care, women's and children's health, behavioral health and pharma services. The firm reported $10.1 billion of assets under management at the end of 2025 and lists Fund VI at $1.8 billion, dated March 31, 2026.

Webster buys control and is often a company's first institutional investor. It targets profitable companies with $20 million to $200 million of revenue and roughly $5 million to $20 million or more of EBITDA at entry, then grows them through new services and acquisitions, aiming for $100 million or more of EBITDA. Several of its platforms grow by partnering with practices one at a time, so a smaller practice or provider will usually meet Webster as an add-on to a platform such as US Pediatric Partners or CVAUSA.

Greymont’s take

How Webster Equity Partners fits a seller

Webster suits owners of healthcare services businesses who want a buyer that knows the field, since healthcare is all it does. A founder-led company with $5 million or more of EBITDA could become a new platform, and Webster says it is often the first institutional investor in the businesses it backs. Physician groups and smaller providers are more likely to join an existing platform: US Pediatric Partners alone added practices and providers in North Carolina, Maryland, Florida and Georgia between April 2025 and September 2026.

Because Webster plans to grow each platform toward $100 million of EBITDA and then sell it, an owner should ask how much of the price is cash at closing versus equity rolled into the platform, and when Webster expects to exit. Physicians should also ask how clinical decisions and pay will be handled after closing.
