What Tritium Partners buys

Tritium Partners is an Austin, Texas firm, with a second office in Lehi, Utah, that backs fast-growing technology and services companies. Founded in 2013, it has raised nearly $1.5 billion across its funds, including the $684 million Tritium III closed in January 2023. It looks for companies with $5 million to $75 million of revenue and less than $15 million of EBITDA, and it invests $20 million to $100 million of equity at enterprise values of about $30 million to $150 million. Its five focus areas are fintech and financial services, online marketplaces, software and data, supply chain and logistics, and tech-enabled business services.

Tritium takes majority or minority stakes, and its deals usually give owners some cash while adding money for growth and add-on acquisitions. Recent activity leans toward software, such as the 2025 Loxo investment, but it still owns service businesses such as an insurance and benefits advisor and a Texas roofing contractor. Its listed portfolio has no IT services or managed service providers.

Greymont’s take

How Tritium Partners fits a seller

Tritium suits the founder of a growing software, marketplace, logistics or tech-enabled service company who wants to take some money off the table but keep a real stake and a role. The firm says it is flexible on how much ownership a founder keeps and how much new money goes into growth, and it will buy out early investors or less active co-founders. Its Loxo deal in February 2025 also brought in a new executive chairman, so owners should expect hands-on board help.

Its recent exits were sales to larger companies: Chairish to Auction Technology Group in August 2025, and Inova Payroll, which UKG agreed to buy in December 2025. An owner should ask how long Tritium expects to hold and what size of exit it is aiming for, and, in a minority deal, what say Tritium will have over a future sale.

Questions owners ask

What size company does Tritium Partners invest in?

It targets companies with $5 million to $75 million of revenue and under $15 million of EBITDA, investing $20 million to $100 million of equity in businesses valued at about $30 million to $150 million.

Does Tritium still back services companies, or only software?

Both. Tech-enabled business services is one of its five focus areas, and current holdings include Symphony Risk Solutions, an insurance and employee benefits advisor, and Heritage Roofing & Construction in Texas. Its listed portfolio has no IT services or managed service providers.

Will Tritium take a minority stake?

Yes. The firm says it takes majority or minority positions and is flexible on how much ownership a founder keeps, often pairing some cash for existing owners with new capital for growth.

What fund is Tritium investing from?

Its third fund, Tritium III, held its final close in January 2023 with $684 million of commitments, above its target, bringing the firm to nearly $1.5 billion of commitments across its funds.
