What Talus Holdings buys

Talus Holdings is a New York holding company that backs its businesses with permanent capital, and its chairman is named as the capital provider, so it does not run a fixed-life fund. It looks for fragmented lower middle market service industries with steady demand, teams an early-career executive with the opportunity, and builds a platform through acquisitions. Its 11 current platforms cover commercial landscaping (Riverview Landscapes, Elevation Outdoors, Lakeshore Landscaping, High Ground Services), auto repair and quick lube (Main Street Auto), commercial janitorial (Heritage Facility Services, Headwater Cleaning), linen and laundry (Elavo), packaging and machining (Basin Industries, Wenzel Industries) and food distribution (Harvest Prime). The firm counts more than 150 acquisitions.

Talus does not publish revenue or EBITDA limits. Most owners will meet it as an add-on to one of its platforms. Riverview alone has made 27 acquisitions since 2022, mostly family-owned landscaping and snow firms in New York, New Jersey and Massachusetts. Talus also starts new platforms in a fresh region or trade by backing a first-time operator who then buys local companies.

Greymont’s take

How Talus Holdings fits a seller

Talus suits owners of commercial landscaping, snow removal, janitorial, linen or independent auto repair businesses who want a buyer that keeps the local team in place. Its releases on Riverview, Lakeshore and Elevation Outdoors describe sellers' crews staying on inside a larger regional company, and Elevation hired a selling owner from Fischer Landscape into a strategy role. Because Talus invests permanent capital, it is not tied to a fund deadline, but it does sell when it judges a business is ready: Velonex went to a new majority owner in 2026, and part of Main Street Auto was sold to another sponsor in 2024. An owner should ask which platform would buy the company and who runs it day to day, and, if part of the price is paid in platform equity, when that stake could be sold.

Questions owners ask

Does Talus Holdings buy landscaping companies?

Yes. Landscaping is its busiest area. Riverview Landscapes has made 27 acquisitions in the Northeast since 2022, and in 2026 Talus started Lakeshore Landscaping in Minnesota and High Ground Services in Florida, alongside Elevation Outdoors in Georgia and Tennessee.

Does Talus buy auto repair shops?

Yes, through Main Street Auto, an Atlanta-based network founded in 2021 that now runs more than 160 repair and service locations. In December 2025 it bought 45 Oil Changers quick lube sites, which now operate as American Quick Lube.

Is Talus a private equity fund?

Not in the usual sense. It describes itself as backing platforms with permanent capital and lists its chairman as the capital provider, so it does not raise fixed-life funds. It still sells businesses, and its track record page lists nine realized investments.
