What Rosewood Private Investments buys

Rosewood Private Investments is the private equity arm of the Rosewood Corporation, the Dallas business owned by the Caroline Hunt Trust Estate. It invests that family capital on an evergreen basis rather than from a fund with a set life, which lets it hold for the mid to long term. It makes control investments, structured minority investments and deals alongside independent sponsors, and in March 2026 it announced structured equity as a further option. Its stated focus areas include industrial and commercial services, IT services, environmental services, nutrition and wellness, residential services such as HVAC and landscaping, and specialty manufacturing. It avoids oil and gas, real estate, banking, insurance and biotech.

For a new platform, Rosewood wants a US company with $20 million to $150 million of revenue and more than $5 million of EBITDA that can take $50 million to $100 million of equity. Smaller companies fit as add-ons, which it will look at in any size, and its current platforms, such as General Informatics and Milestone Funeral Partners, buy often.

Greymont’s take

How Rosewood Private Investments fits a seller

Rosewood suits the owner of a mid-sized services or niche manufacturing business who wants a well-funded buyer without a fund deadline. It says it prefers to reinvest profits and is careful about adding debt, which matters to owners who keep a stake. Owners below its $5 million EBITDA floor are more likely to sell to one of its platforms: General Informatics, a Louisiana managed IT and security provider, has bought IT firms across the Southeast since 2020, and Milestone Funeral Partners announced nine funeral home additions between October 2025 and October 2026.

Rosewood does sell. It exited Superior Environmental Solutions in 2023 and sold a majority of Eagle Fire to Cobepa in July 2025 while keeping a minority stake. An owner should ask how long Rosewood expects to hold the business and whether one of its operating partners, who usually serve as active board members, would join the board.

Questions owners ask

What size company does Rosewood Private Investments look for?

For a new platform it wants a US business with $20 million to $150 million of revenue and more than $5 million of EBITDA, and it can invest $50 million to $100 million of equity. Add-ons for its existing companies can be any size.

Is Rosewood Private Investments a fund?

No. It is the private equity arm of the Rosewood Corporation, which the Caroline Hunt Trust Estate wholly owns. It puts that family's own money to work instead of raising capital from outside investors.

Does Rosewood buy IT services or MSP companies?

Yes, mainly through General Informatics, the managed IT provider it backed in 2020. General Informatics bought New Orleans cybersecurity firm GlobeNet in June 2025 and South Carolina AI firm IMS Solutions Group in April 2026.

Does Rosewood work with independent sponsors?

Yes. Its platform criteria list control, structured minority and independent sponsor investments, and in March 2026 the Rosewood Corporation announced structured equity as an added capital option.
