What Jacmel Partners buys
Jacmel Partners is a minority-owned investment firm in New York, founded in 2015 and formerly called Jacmel Growth Partners. Its private equity arm buys control of family- and founder-owned companies that are light on assets and compete in fragmented markets: infrastructure services, information services and tech-enabled business services. Its posted minimums are $20 million of revenue and $5 million of EBITDA, and it expects sellers to roll a material share of their proceeds into the new company.
The private equity side runs two main platforms. Virtual Technologies Group, a managed IT and cybersecurity provider in Maumee, Ohio, has added Quotient, Whitlock Infrastructure Solutions and Vector Tech Group. Arora Engineers, an infrastructure engineering and facility management firm in Chadds Ford, Pennsylvania, added program manager JWI in January 2026. Since 2025 Jacmel has also run a separate infrastructure strategy that co-invests in large projects. A smaller IT or engineering firm is most likely to meet Jacmel as an add-on.

Greymont’s take
How Jacmel Partners fits a seller
Jacmel fits a family or founder owner of a business services company with at least $5 million of EBITDA who wants to sell control but keep a real stake. The firm says outright that it expects material seller rollover, so an owner should plan to leave part of the proceeds in the business and share in a later sale. When Jacmel bought Arora Engineers in 2022, the family CEO kept running the company and it kept its minority-owned status.
Owners of smaller managed IT, cybersecurity or engineering firms are more likely to hear from Jacmel through Virtual Technologies Group or Arora as an add-on. Because the same small team also runs an infrastructure strategy, an owner should ask how much capital is set aside for private equity platforms, how large the rollover must be, and how long Jacmel expects to hold. Its only disclosed exit, EMSAR, came in 2021.
Questions owners ask
What size company does Jacmel Partners buy?
Its private equity page lists at least $20 million of revenue and $5 million of EBITDA. It buys control of family- and founder-owned companies and expects the seller to roll over a material stake.
Does Jacmel buy managed IT or cybersecurity companies?
Yes. Its platform Virtual Technologies Group, a managed IT and cybersecurity provider based in Maumee, Ohio, added Whitlock Infrastructure Solutions in February 2026 and Vector Tech Group in March 2026, after buying federal IT contractor Quotient in 2024.
Is Jacmel Partners the same firm as Jacmel Growth Partners?
Yes. The firm's own 2022 releases on the Arora Engineers and Virtual Technologies Group deals use the Jacmel Growth Partners name, with the same founder, Nick Jean-Baptiste, and the same 2015 founding year.
What is Jacmel Infrastructure?
A separate strategy launched in January 2025 that co-invests in large infrastructure projects alongside other investors. Its first deal, announced in May 2025, was a stake in the partnership that operates LaGuardia Airport's Terminal B.
