What High Street Capital buys
High Street Capital is a Chicago private equity firm founded in 1997 by business owners. It buys lower middle market companies in four areas: outsourced business services, niche manufacturing, business-to-business supply chain, and value-added distribution and logistics. Its criteria allow revenue up to $150 million and cash flow up to $15 million, and its sixth fund, a $247.5 million SBIC fund closed in 2024, targets $3 million to $15 million of EBITDA. It invests across the U.S., mostly east of the Rockies, and stays away from retail, consumer products, restaurants, start-ups, turnarounds and real estate.
Deals can be control or minority: management buyouts, succession sales, recapitalizations, growth equity and corporate carve-outs. Each company is assigned one of High Street's own operating partners before closing. Its two Fund VI platforms are founder and family businesses in Texas, AHI Supply in December 2024 and All About Concrete in August 2026, and the firm says it has capital beyond the fund for add-ons to its current companies.

Greymont’s take
How High Street Capital fits a seller
High Street fits owners of manufacturing, distribution or contractor businesses who want a hands-on partner and plan to stay. All About Concrete kept its founder as CEO in 2026, and AHI Supply's management stayed in place in 2024. The firm is building a group of companies that serve home builders (All About Concrete in Texas, Pinnacle in the Carolinas and Southern Design in Atlanta), covering concrete, masonry, landscaping and now plumbing, so owners in those trades may find an add-on route. It also takes minority stakes, as it did with BCD, which suits a founder who wants some cash now and a larger sale later alongside the investor. Owners should ask which operating partner would join their board and how long High Street plans to hold, since its recent exits came after roughly five to eight years.
Questions owners ask
What size company does High Street Capital look for?
Its criteria page allows revenue up to $150 million and cash flow up to $15 million. Fund VI, which closed at $247.5 million in 2024, targets EBITDA of $3 million to $15 million, and a December 2024 release asked for businesses with more than $10 million of revenue.
Will High Street take a minority stake?
Yes. Its criteria list both control and non-control deals, along with growth equity, recapitalizations and management buyouts. Its investment in BCD, a maker of video surveillance storage systems, was a minority partnership in which the founder planned to sell alongside High Street later.
Does High Street invest in construction services companies?
Yes. It owns All About Concrete in Texas, Pinnacle Contracting Services in North and South Carolina and Southern Design in metro Atlanta, all of which serve home builders. Pinnacle added CJones Plumbing in June 2026, and High Street sold Wisconsin drywall contractor Suburban in July 2024.
