What Graham Partners buys

Graham Partners is a private investment firm in Newtown Square, Pennsylvania, outside Philadelphia. It was founded in 1988 and grew out of the Graham family's group of industrial companies. It reports $5.0 billion of regulatory assets under management as of March 2026. It buys technology-driven manufacturers and tech-enabled service companies in three groups: industrial technology (automation, sensors, connectivity, safety and security), medical devices and life sciences (contract manufacturing and pharma services), and food and consumer essentials (co-manufactured food, flavors, sauces and packaging). Its criteria call for $5 million to $50 million of EBITDA and margins of at least 10 percent, mostly in North America.

Its flagship funds make control buyouts and then add companies to them. It also makes minority growth investments, such as Miss Jones Baking Co. in 2025. Graham is a busy acquirer for its platforms: DecisionPoint, Becklar, Woodland Gourmet and Velosity have all bought smaller businesses since late 2024. A company under $5 million of EBITDA would usually meet Graham as one of those add-ons.

Greymont’s take

How Graham Partners fits a seller

Graham fits owners of engineered product makers, contract manufacturers, specialty food producers and tech-enabled service firms with a clear product or technology edge. Because most of its recent deals are add-ons, a sale often means joining an existing platform, such as a mobility integrator joining DecisionPoint or an alarm monitoring firm joining Becklar. Founders can keep a role: Lucid Labs' founder became Velosity's chief innovation officer in 2026, and Target Flavors was family-owned when Graham partnered with it in 2025.

Graham can hold companies for a long time. It moved Gatekeeper, first bought in 2019, into a continuation fund in 2025 rather than selling it to a new owner. An owner who rolls over equity should ask about the expected hold period, whether a continuation fund could extend it, and how the firm's operations team will work with management.

Questions owners ask

What size company does Graham Partners buy?

Its stated criteria are $5 million to $50 million of EBITDA with margins of 10 percent or more, for companies mainly based in North America. Smaller firms have joined its platforms as add-ons, such as Lucid Labs, a Minnesota engineering firm founded in 2004.

Does Graham Partners take minority stakes?

Yes. Its portfolio page says it does both buyouts and minority investments, and it tags several current holdings as growth deals, including Miss Jones Baking Co., Bite and KCF Technologies.

Does Graham buy IT services or managed services companies?

Not as a named sector, but its platform DecisionPoint is an enterprise mobility integrator with managed services. DecisionPoint bought Acuity Technologies, a mobile managed services provider, in 2025 and two data capture and RFID firms in August 2026.
