What GenNx360 Capital Partners buys

GenNx360 Capital Partners is a New York firm founded in 2006 that manages about $3 billion. It buys control of North American business-to-business companies in industrial services, business services and manufacturing, looking for fragmented markets where it can grow through acquisitions. Its target companies have $50 million to $500 million of revenue and $5 million to $35 million of EBITDA, and it invests $25 million to $100 million of equity per deal. Recent target areas include infrastructure and utility services, testing and inspection, aerospace and defense, automation, commercial services, IT services, packaging and food services.

The firm closed its fourth fund at $865 million in August 2026, above its target, and that fund has already backed Shenandoah, Heartland Business Systems, NVI and Aeron Defense. GenNx360 says it prefers to be the first outside investor in founder- or family-owned companies. It also buys companies below its size range as add-ons, as Heartland did with Applied Tech Solutions in April 2026.

Greymont’s take

How GenNx360 Capital Partners fits a seller

GenNx360 fits owners of business-to-business service and industrial companies, such as IT managed service providers, pipe and underground infrastructure contractors and specialty manufacturers, who are ready to sell control and want the business to keep growing through acquisitions. Owners below $5 million of EBITDA are more likely to sell into a platform: the owners of Franklin Machine & Gear and Nu-Pipe and the CEO of Applied Tech Solutions all stayed with their businesses after joining GenNx360 companies.

GenNx360 brings its own operating partners into each deal and works from a set playbook, so owners should ask which operating changes are planned for the first year and what role they will have. Its recent exits went to large corporate buyers (Precision Aviation Group and Aero 3 to VSE, ITsavvy to Xerox), so it is also worth asking what exit the firm has in mind.

Questions owners ask

Does GenNx360 buy IT services companies?

Yes. It bought Heartland Business Systems, a Wisconsin IT services provider, in October 2025, and in April 2026 Heartland added Applied Tech Solutions, a managed IT and cybersecurity provider. GenNx360 earlier owned ITsavvy, which it sold to Xerox for $400 million in November 2024.

What size company does GenNx360 look for?

Its stated range is $50 million to $500 million of revenue and $5 million to $35 million of EBITDA, with equity investments of $25 million to $100 million. Its about page adds that it keeps looking for smaller add-on acquisitions for its existing companies.

Does GenNx360 work with founder-owned businesses?

Yes. Its strategy page says most of its investments have been made alongside founders, and it aims to be the first institutional capital in founder- or family-owned companies. In recent add-ons, the owners of Franklin Machine & Gear and Nu-Pipe stayed with the combined businesses.
