What Estancia Capital Management buys

Estancia Capital Partners, the fund arm of Estancia Capital Management, is a Scottsdale, Arizona private equity firm with an office in Philadelphia. It focuses on companies that serve the financial services industry: firms selling essential services, software or outsourced support to banks, credit unions, wealth managers, asset managers and other financial companies. It looks for capital-light, growing businesses with at least $5 million of EBITDA. By June 2026 it had backed 17 platform companies and completed 21 add-ons, and that month it closed its third fund at $367 million, taking regulatory assets under management to about $965 million.

Estancia invests through management buyouts, succession deals for founder-owned firms, carve-outs from larger financial companies and growth investments, sometimes alongside a co-investor. After closing it follows a buy-and-build plan. Recent add-ons have gone into Soltis Investment Advisors, a Utah wealth manager, and StrategyCorps, a provider of checking account analytics and software for banks. A smaller wealth management, tax or bank technology firm is most likely to meet Estancia as an add-on to one of those platforms.

Greymont’s take

How Estancia Capital Management fits a seller

Estancia fits an owner whose customers are financial institutions or investors: a registered investment adviser, a bank technology or compliance software firm, a deposit or cash management service, or a back-office provider to asset managers. Outside that niche it is unlikely to be a buyer. Its site lays out its process step by step, from management meetings to a letter of intent, due diligence and closing, and it puts incentive plans and add-on acquisitions in place after it invests. Founders who joined its platforms have often stayed on: the Artifex co-founders kept active leadership roles at Soltis in June 2026. Because Estancia does sell its companies, an owner who rolls over equity should ask about the expected hold period and the likely exit. Recent sales include North Square Investments to Azimut in January 2026 and PMA to TA Associates in 2024.

Questions owners ask

What size company does Estancia invest in?

Its criteria call for institutional-quality firms with $5 million of EBITDA or more. It calls itself a lower middle market investor, and its third fund closed at $367 million in June 2026.

Does Estancia only invest in financial services?

Its key test is that a company provides mission-critical solutions to financial services end markets. Every current holding fits that pattern, from wealth managers Soltis and Snowden Lane to bank software provider StrategyCorps and compliance software maker InvestorCOM.

Does Estancia make add-on acquisitions?

Yes. It follows a buy-and-build approach and had completed 21 add-ons by June 2026. Soltis added High End Financial in 2025 and GDM and Artifex in 2026, and StrategyCorps bought Quantuma in September 2026.
