What Culper Capital Partners buys

Culper Capital Partners is a private investment firm in Closter, New Jersey, started in 2020 by Adam Cook and Kevin Wilson. Cook had owned and run Glebar, a medical and industrial machinery maker, before selling it to Arcline. Culper invests its own money and its partners' money in company equity, private debt, outside funds and real estate. For equity deals it looks for US companies with more than $10 million of revenue, roughly $5 million to $20 million of EBITDA and EBITDA margins of 20% or more. It prefers niche manufacturing, industrial and business services, machinery and aftermarket parts and service, and medical device contract manufacturing and distribution.

Culper can buy control or take a minority stake, and it works on founder transitions, management-backed recapitalizations and corporate carve-outs. Its main control holdings are The Producto Group, a precision tooling and machining group, and Innova Engineered Plastics, formerly ThermoFab. Culper sets no size minimum for add-ons, so a small manufacturer that fits one of those companies is the likeliest match.

Greymont’s take

How Culper Capital Partners fits a seller

Culper is best suited to owners of small precision manufacturing, plastics or tooling businesses that could join Producto or Innova, or to owners who want a buyer led by someone who once owned and ran a manufacturer. Its most recent control-style deal was Innova's purchase of PolyCraft Tech, announced in September 2025, which added a West Coast plant to Innova's sites in Massachusetts and Mexico.

Culper also puts money into credit funds, real estate, sports investments and consumer brands, and since 2025 most of its new positions have been minority stakes rather than buyouts. An owner should ask how much equity Culper can commit itself, which partners it would bring in for a larger deal, and how long it expects to hold the company.

Questions owners ask

What size company does Culper buy?

Its 2024 company profile gives an EBITDA range of $5 million to $20 million for equity deals, or more than $20 million when it invests with partners, and its equity page asks for more than $10 million of revenue. There is no minimum for add-on acquisitions.

Does Culper take minority stakes?

Yes. Its equity strategy covers control, minority, co-investment and secondary deals. Its portfolio lists minority positions in UNTUCKit, Eastside Golf and Mantacus, and in April 2026 it co-led a seed round for the watchmaker AXIA Time.

Is Culper a traditional private equity fund?

Not in the usual sense. Its 2020 launch announcement describes a private investment company that uses its own capital and its partners' capital, and its portfolio holds credit funds, private equity funds and real estate as well as operating companies.
