What Carrick Capital Partners buys
Carrick Capital Partners is a growth investor with offices in San Francisco and Newport Beach that backs software, SaaS, transaction processing and tech-enabled services companies. Its published criteria call for $20 million to $100 million of revenue, profits now or soon, revenue growth above 15% a year, and a market worth more than $1 billion. It looks for gross margins above 65% in software and above 40% in services, and it writes equity checks of more than $35 million, either new money for the company or a purchase of shares from existing owners.
Carrick keeps a small portfolio, about a dozen current companies, and works closely with management using its own operating playbook, which it calls ABV. It takes both majority and minority positions: it bought a majority of Intelligo in September 2025 and led a minority round in Veritas Prime a month later. A company below its revenue floor is more likely to reach Carrick as an add-on, the way Contract Logix joined LegalSifter in 2024.

Greymont’s take
How Carrick Capital Partners fits a seller
Carrick fits founders of software or tech-enabled service businesses that are growing fast, are at or near break-even or better, and want an investor with hands-on operating experience. Because the firm holds only about a dozen companies, each one gets close attention, and it can stay a long time: it first backed Saviynt when that company had about $10 million of annual recurring revenue and was still adding money in 2026 through a continuation vehicle.
A deal with Carrick does not have to be a full sale. Its OnPay and Veritas Prime deals were funding rounds in which the sitting CEOs carried on, while Intelligo was a majority sale. Owners should ask whether Carrick wants control or a minority stake, how much of the check goes to the company versus to selling shareholders, and how a long hold period fits their own plans.
Questions owners ask
What size company does Carrick Capital Partners look for?
Its published criteria target companies with $20 million to $100 million of revenue that are profitable or close to it, growing revenue by more than 15% a year, and needing an equity investment above $35 million.
Does Carrick buy majority stakes or minority stakes?
It does both. In September 2025 it made a majority investment in Intelligo, and in October 2025 it led a $31.5 million minority investment in Veritas Prime, an SAP implementation and managed payroll firm.
Does Carrick invest in IT services firms as well as software?
Yes. Its stated focus includes technology-enabled services. Veritas Prime, backed in October 2025, sells SAP implementation, support and managed payroll services, and current holding Bishop Fox provides offensive security testing.
