What Burlington Capital Partners buys
Burlington Capital Partners is a two-partner private equity firm with offices in Chicago and Cleveland. It buys control of US companies owned by families, founders or operators that earn at least $2 million of EBITDA, have a record of profits and see steady demand. Its target list is broad: food and beverage, ingredients, packaging, pet and wellness products, value-added distribution, home services, plant and facility services, safety testing and certification, franchise businesses and other essential suppliers. It looks at manufacturers, distributors and service companies that sell to businesses or consumers.
Since 2022 Burlington has made three platform investments, each with a lender or co-investor at its side: Sokol & Company with Gladstone Capital, Martin Pallet with Farragut Capital Partners, and RS Boes Holdings, a Precision Garage Door Service franchisee, with RF Investment Partners. Its June 2026 brochure says it does control deals only and asks sellers to roll equity and stay involved. No committed fund is disclosed. A smaller business is more likely to fit as an add-on to the garage door or pallet companies.

Greymont’s take
How Burlington Capital Partners fits a seller
Burlington suits a family or founder-owned company with at least $2 million of EBITDA whose owner wants a small, hands-on buyer rather than a large fund. Its partners take operating roles: Sokol was a management-led buyout with partner Tim Novak, from the founding family, as president, and at Martin Pallet a partner became CEO while the co-owner kept leading sales. Burlington asks sellers to roll equity and stay involved, so an owner should expect to keep a stake rather than walk away at closing.
Because Burlington has no disclosed fund and brings in a lender or co-investor on each deal, an owner should ask early who is putting up the equity and the debt, how firm that money is, and how much of the price arrives in cash at closing versus rolled equity.
Questions owners ask
What size company does Burlington Capital Partners look for?
US companies with at least $2 million of EBITDA, a history of profits and low cyclicality, owned by a family, founder or operator. It does not publish a maximum size or a check size.
Does Burlington buy home services or garage door companies?
Yes. Home services is on its target list, and in March 2026 it bought RS Boes Holdings, a multi-state Precision Garage Door Service franchisee that also serves commercial customers, together with RF Investment Partners.
Will Burlington take a minority stake?
Its June 2026 brochure says it focuses on control equity and does not do minority deals. An older focus page still on its website says it will consider select minority investments, so the brochure is the more current answer.
Does the owner stay involved after selling to Burlington?
Burlington says it always encourages sellers to stay involved, including through rollover equity. After the 2023 Martin Pallet buyout, the co-owner and CEO kept leading sales and business development.
