What 7 Seas Capital buys

7 Seas Capital is an Atlanta investment group led by Clayton Terry and Trevor Seckinger, former owners and executives of an automotive company called Dealer Solutions and Design who now invest as hands-on operators. It looks for businesses with $10 million to $50 million of revenue and $1 million to $10 million of EBITDA, a product or service customers cannot easily get elsewhere, light needs for equipment spending and working capital, and at least one manager who wants to stay and keep building. It will take a majority or a minority position and sets up equity incentives for management. The firm frames its work as faith-based stewardship.

7 Seas names no committed fund, and Tico Capital Partners, its partner in both current companies, describes it as an independent sponsor. Its two holdings are industrial: Precision Piping Products, a Houston maker of pipe flange protection products bought with Tico in May 2025, and Recycling Equipment, Inc., which added Advanced Equipment Sales in September 2025. It says it wants to build a national portfolio over time.

Greymont’s take

How 7 Seas Capital fits a seller

7 Seas fits an owner of an industrial or business-to-business company who would rather sell, fully or in part, to people who have run and sold a company themselves than to career investors. Its message centers on the founder's legacy and on the employees, and in the Precision Piping deal owners Keith and Debbie Nichols stayed on to lead the business. Its stated goal is to grow EBITDA over about five years with managers who share in the upside.

Because 7 Seas has no stated fund and has done both of its deals with Tico Capital Partners, an owner should ask early where the equity will come from, who will control the board and how firm the financing is. With two companies so far, it is also reasonable to ask to speak with those owners.

Questions owners ask

What size companies does 7 Seas Capital look for?

Its criteria call for $10 million to $50 million of revenue and $1 million to $10 million of EBITDA, along with low capital spending needs, a clear customer advantage and a management team that wants to keep growing the business.

Does 7 Seas Capital buy majority or minority stakes?

Both. Its approach page lists majority or minority positions, flexible capital and incentive equity for management. Its May 2025 Precision Piping Products deal, done with Tico Capital Partners, was a majority stake.

Who runs 7 Seas Capital?

Managing partners Clayton Terry and Trevor Seckinger. Tico Capital's team page says both were owners of Dealer Solutions and Design, an automotive business they led through several M&A processes, and both serve as Tico operating partners and board members at its two companies.
