What Radial Equity Partners buys
Radial Equity Partners is a New York private equity firm that buys middle market industrial companies in three business models: manufacturing, value-added distribution and services. Its target sectors are packaging, industrial technology, the vehicle aftermarket, building products and materials, environmental, chemicals, medical supplies, and aerospace and defense. The team says it has completed 53 transactions worth more than $2.8 billion of enterprise value, a count that includes deals it led for investment vehicles before Radial was formed.
Radial typically invests $25 million to $200 million or more of equity in companies with $5 million to $50 million or more of EBITDA, mostly in North America. It says it works mainly with family-owned and founder-owned businesses, and it also does corporate carve-outs, ESOP-owned companies and recapitalizations, including partial sales where the owner keeps a stake. Smaller companies can meet Radial as add-ons, which the firm says can be any size, as with Cortina and Mr. Chain joining Plasticade in January 2026.

Greymont’s take
How Radial Equity Partners fits a seller
Radial is built for owners of family or founder-owned industrial businesses who are thinking about retirement, a generational handoff or buying out a partner. Its recent platforms fit that pattern: Thomas Precision was bought from its long-time owner, Premier Dental's fourth-generation family CEO stepped down at closing, and Plasticade's longtime chairman retired when Radial invested. Radial often brings in one of its senior advisors, usually a former chief executive of a larger industrial company, as chairman or interim CEO.
Owners who want to keep a stake have options. The Cortina family kept a share of its business after merging with Plasticade, and Radial says it will structure partial sales. Owners should ask who will run the company after closing, whether their business would be a new platform or an add-on to an existing one, and which of Radial's operating advisors would be involved.
Questions owners ask
Does Radial Equity Partners buy family-owned businesses?
Yes. Radial says most of its deals are with family and entrepreneur-owned businesses. Recent examples include Thomas Precision, bought from its owner and chief executive in March 2026, and Premier Dental, a fourth-generation family company it backed in February 2025.
What size company does Radial invest in?
Radial typically invests $25 million to $200 million or more of equity in companies with $5 million to $50 million or more of EBITDA. Add-on acquisitions for its existing companies can be any size.
Will Radial buy only part of a company?
Yes. Radial says some owners sell outright while others take some money off the table and stay invested, and it structures recapitalizations to match. When Cortina merged with Plasticade in January 2026, the Giannelli family kept an ownership stake.
