What Liberty Hall Capital Partners buys
Liberty Hall is a Charleston, South Carolina firm, founded in 2011, that invests only in businesses serving aerospace, defense and space. Within that niche it backs parts makers and suppliers, distributors and maintenance providers, aircraft financiers, and software and technology companies. It usually commits $100 million to $200 million of equity to a platform over time, mostly in control buyouts, and it will also take a significant minority stake or join other investors on a larger deal. Since 2013 it has invested more than $1.2 billion across 24 acquisitions: 8 platforms and 16 add-ons.
The firm chooses segments through its own research and then grows each platform with add-ons, many of them outside the US. Lately its focus has been aviation software: it bought Paxia, an airline catering software provider, in July 2025, and its Comply365 platform added four businesses in 2025. Liberty Hall does not publish revenue or EBITDA minimums. A smaller aerospace supplier or software company is most likely to meet it as an add-on to Accurus Aerospace, Dunlop Aircraft Tyres, Comply365 or Paxia.

Greymont’s take
How Liberty Hall Capital Partners fits a seller
Liberty Hall suits owners whose companies sell mainly into aerospace, defense or space and want a buyer that does nothing else. Its operating advisors are former industry CEOs, senior executives and military officers, so the firm arrives knowing the customers and the rules. It runs only a handful of platforms at once, so most new deals are add-ons, and software owners have been the most frequent sellers lately: Comply365 bought four aviation safety and training software businesses in 2025, including a unit of Rolls-Royce, most of them outside the US.
In the Paxia deal the seller kept a minority stake and the CEO and his team stayed in their roles, which shows room for partial sales. Because Liberty Hall moved Comply365 into a continuation fund in 2024 rather than selling it, an owner rolling equity should ask how long the firm expects to hold the platform and how a later sale would be decided.
