What Infinedi Partners buys

Infinedi Partners is a New York private equity firm founded in March 2018 by Jay Hegenbart. It only invests where it would be a company's first private equity owner, usually taking control while the founder reinvests a large share of the proceeds, and it says it uses less debt and holds longer than most buyout firms. It looks for North American companies worth $75 million to $200 million that lead a growing industry and have recurring revenue and positive cash flow. Its focus areas are education, from early childhood to professional training; experiential services such as live events and youth enrichment; and tech-enabled business services.

The firm reports $625 million of assets under management, ten completed investments and an average equity investment of about $50 million. It began by raising money one deal at a time through single-asset vehicles. Current holdings are CEA CAPA Education Abroad, research provider BWG Global and staffing firm LaSalle Network. CEA CAPA bought Atlantis in October 2024 and the CIS group in July 2025, so smaller study-abroad businesses can meet Infinedi as add-ons.

Greymont’s take

How Infinedi Partners fits a seller

Infinedi fits founders of larger lower middle market companies, roughly $75 million to $200 million in value, who have never sold to private equity and want to keep a meaningful stake. Its model of control with a large founder reinvestment, lighter debt and longer holds suits an owner who believes the next stage of growth is worth more than cashing out in full. With an average equity check near $50 million and ten investments since 2018, the firm is selective and its deals are few.

Its activity over the last two years has been add-ons for CEA CAPA rather than new platforms, though it hired three investment professionals in 2026. Owners should ask how the deal would be funded, since Infinedi has historically raised capital deal by deal, how much they would be expected to reinvest, and how long Infinedi plans to hold.
