What Highlander Partners buys
Highlander Partners is a Dallas private investment firm, founded in 2004, that invests only its own money. It has no outside limited partners, manages more than $3.0 billion, and has completed more than 90 majority control deals in eight countries across North America and Europe, with offices in Warsaw and Bucharest as well as Dallas. Because the capital is its own, it has no fixed holding period, and it says it uses less debt than most private equity firms. It does not publish revenue, EBITDA or check size targets.
Most of its current companies are branded consumer products businesses, such as Tapatío hot sauce, Ergobaby, SFERRA linens, RMS Beauty and NiTEO Products, a household and car care chemicals group. It also owns industrial and technology businesses such as Biamp and Direct Scaffolding Supply, plus food, retail and hospital companies in Poland and Romania. Its recent deals range from buying from founding families to corporate carve-outs, and a smaller brand is most likely to fit as an add-on, as Folex and Faultless Brands did with NiTEO in late 2025.

Greymont’s take
How Highlander Partners fits a seller
Highlander suits owners of branded consumer or niche industrial companies, especially family businesses, who want a patient owner. Because it invests its own capital, it is not working against a fund deadline, and it has owned NiTEO Products since 2015. Its January 2026 Tapatío deal shows a common structure: the Saavedra family sold control but kept a minority stake, and a second investor came in alongside Highlander. Its exits can be large, such as the July 2026 sale of DZYNE to Ondas, where it took most of its payment in Ondas stock. Highlander publishes no size range and its recent targets are well-known brands, so an owner of a smaller company should ask whether the business would stand alone or join an existing platform, and how much debt Highlander plans to put on it.
Questions owners ask
Does Highlander Partners have outside investors?
No. The firm says it invests only its own capital, including money from its team, has no outside limited partners and sets no deadline for selling a company.
What kinds of companies does Highlander buy?
Mostly branded consumer products, such as Tapatío hot sauce, Ergobaby baby carriers and NiTEO's household cleaning brands, along with some industrial and technology businesses and food, retail and hospital companies in Poland and Romania.
Can the founding family keep a stake?
Yes. When Highlander bought Tapatío from the Saavedra family in January 2026, the family kept a minority position and The Arnold Companies also took a significant minority stake.
