What Consonance Capital Partners buys
Consonance Capital Partners is a New York private equity firm that invests only in U.S. healthcare. It looks for companies that help patients get better care at a lower cost, and its current holdings are mostly services businesses: a specialty lab, a rare disease pharmacy, a manager of senior behavioral health programs, a medical transportation company and a Medicaid financing adviser. Its four founders worked together for more than ten years at JPMorgan Partners before starting the firm.
The firm does growth equity deals, leveraged buyouts and recapitalizations. It aims for companies with $25 million to $500 million of revenue but says it will look outside that range. Most of its deals come from family or founder owned companies that want cash, growth capital or both, or from large companies selling a division. In October 2026 it closed its third fund at a $1.35 billion hard cap, aimed at the lower and middle market. A smaller company can also meet Consonance as an add-on, as DignifiHealth did when it joined Sellers Dorsey in July 2025.

Greymont’s take
How Consonance Capital Partners fits a seller
Consonance suits owners of healthcare services businesses who want a buyer that already understands payers, reimbursement and regulation. Several of its companies began as recapitalizations done with the existing management team, such as Psychiatric Medical Care in 2018 and Orsini in 2019, so an owner can often keep a stake and keep running the business. The firm also buys divisions that large companies want to sell.
Its news page shows a small number of new platform companies, roughly one a year from 2014 to 2019, and long holds: Bako has been in the portfolio since 2016. With a new $1.35 billion fund closed in October 2026, the firm has fresh capital to invest. An owner should ask how much of the company Consonance wants to own, how long it expects to hold, and how it has helped past companies grow through acquisitions.
Questions owners ask
What size company does Consonance Capital Partners look for?
Its stated target is healthcare companies with $25 million to $500 million of revenue, and it says it will consider companies outside that range. Its third fund, closed in October 2026, is aimed at the lower and middle market.
Does Consonance invest outside healthcare?
No. The firm says it invests only in U.S. healthcare, across areas such as providers, payors, diagnostics, distribution, devices, specialty pharmaceuticals, outsourced services and healthcare IT.
Can the management team stay on after a Consonance investment?
Often, yes. The firm says backing capable managers whose interests match its own is central to how it invests, and its recapitalizations of Orsini Pharmaceutical Services and Psychiatric Medical Care were both done in partnership with each company's management team.
