What Bloom Equity Partners buys

Bloom Equity Partners is a New York private equity firm that invests only in lower middle market B2B software, technology and tech-enabled business services companies. It looks for businesses with $5 million to $50 million or more of annual recurring revenue that already make a profit or expect to within 12 months. It always takes a majority stake, above 51%, and wants operational control. Deal types include growth buyouts, recapitalizations, management buyouts, carve-outs from larger groups and take-privates of small public companies. It invests in North America, Western Europe, and Australia and New Zealand, and is deploying its first fund, Bloom Equity Partners Fund I.

Bloom grows its platforms through acquisitions. Its library and archive software company, Soutron Global, has bought MINISIS, Auto-Graphics and Austin-based Biblionix since December 2024, and its compliance services company, GRC Solutions, agreed in August 2025 to carve out a cybersecurity consulting unit from BSI. An owner below the $5 million recurring revenue floor is most likely to meet Bloom as an add-on to one of these platforms.

Greymont’s take

How Bloom Equity Partners fits a seller

Bloom fits founders of recurring-revenue software or tech-enabled service businesses who are ready to sell control. It requires a majority stake and operational control, so it is not the partner for an owner who wants a minority deal. Bloom is hands-on: it has in-house operating directors for marketing and hiring, runs an AI working group across its companies, and often adds new executives after it buys. At Soutron Global, the longtime CEO moved into an advisory role in October 2025 when a new CEO took over.

For smaller software owners, the likeliest path is a sale to one of Bloom's platforms. The August 2026 purchase of Biblionix, a Texas company founded in 2003, is a recent example, and Bloom said it reflects a focus on founder-owned businesses. Owners should ask what happens to their product and their own role after integration, and how long Bloom plans to hold the platform they would join.
