What TriArtisan Capital Advisors buys

TriArtisan Capital Advisors is a West Palm Beach private equity firm that buys large, established companies, most visibly national restaurant and consumer brands, along with industrial and business services companies. It looks for businesses with $25 million to $300 million of EBITDA, far above the lower middle market. It invests money supplied by sovereign wealth funds, alternative asset managers and family offices, and says it can do leveraged buyouts, growth equity, spin-offs, carve-outs, roll-ups, recapitalizations and restructurings, including taking public companies private.

The firm was set up in 2016 by the founders of TriArtisan Capital Partners, which dates to 2002, and moved its headquarters from New York City to Florida in December 2025. Its current holdings are Denny's, P.F. Chang's, the food platform C3, Mears Transportation and EnergySolutions, which it agreed to sell in April 2026. In January 2026 it closed the $620 million Denny's take-private. A company far below its size range is unlikely to be a direct fit; the nearer route is a sale to one of its portfolio companies, as when EnergySolutions bought Cabrera Services in 2024.

Greymont’s take

How TriArtisan Capital Advisors fits a seller

TriArtisan is a buyer for owners of large, well-known businesses, not for most founder-run companies. Its $25 million EBITDA floor rules out the typical lower middle market seller as a new platform, and its recent deals have been big, complex transactions such as the Denny's take-private, done with co-investors. Owners of a restaurant group, consumer brand or industrial services company at that scale may find it a flexible partner, since it lists carve-outs, recapitalizations and restructurings among the deals it will do.

Smaller owners are more likely to meet TriArtisan when one of its portfolio companies wants to buy them. Anyone talking to the firm should ask which investors would fund the deal, since TriArtisan invests capital supplied by outside institutions and does not publish a flagship fund, and how long it usually holds a company.
