What Rox Capital Partners buys

Al Cameron and Mark Sparrow started Rox Capital Partners in 2017. The firm has offices in Austin and Dallas and about $150 million under management. It buys and grows lower middle market companies in distribution, manufacturing, industrial and healthcare markets, usually alongside the founder or a seasoned management team. Most of its deals have been control buyouts, though in 2025 it made a growth equity investment in Haven Hub, a California home services company. It does not publish revenue or EBITDA limits.

Its record centers on Texas industrial businesses. It built a water and wastewater platform around The Scruggs Company of Houston, added a field service firm and more distributors, and sold the group to The Sterling Group in April 2026. In June 2026 it bought Interstate Threaded Products, a Dallas fastener maker, as the start of a new platform it plans to grow by acquisition. Owners of fastener, specialty distribution or water infrastructure supply businesses are the most natural fit, either as a new platform or an add-on.

Greymont’s take

How Rox Capital Partners fits a seller

Rox fits a Texas or Sun Belt owner of a modest-sized industrial, distribution or manufacturing business who wants a small, hands-on partner rather than a large fund. The founders describe a roll-up-your-sleeves style, and in its releases Rox usually keeps the company name and existing leaders in place, as it did with the president of Interstate Threaded Products in 2026. Its Scruggs platform shows the usual path: buy a respected regional company, add a few businesses that fit with it, then sell to a larger private equity firm.

With roughly $150 million under management, Rox writes smaller checks than most firms in this directory. An owner should ask how a deal would be financed, whether Rox expects to bring in co-investors, and how long it plans to hold the business, since the Scruggs investment lasted about four and a half years.

Questions owners ask

What size companies does Rox Capital Partners buy?

Rox does not publish a revenue or EBITDA range. It describes itself as a lower middle market investor, reports about $150 million under management, and lists nine investments made since its founding in 2017.

Has Rox Capital Partners sold a company recently?

Yes. In April 2026 it sold The Scruggs Companies, a Houston water and wastewater products and service platform built with Neil Technical Services, to The Sterling Group, with the existing leadership team staying on.

What is Rox Capital's newest platform?

Interstate Threaded Products, a Dallas maker of specialty threaded fasteners founded in 1973, acquired in June 2026. Rox says it will grow the fastener platform organically and through acquisitions, and the company's president continues to lead it.
