Buyers by location
Louisiana's private equity firms are based in New Orleans and Baton Rouge, and many of them grew up around the Gulf Coast's industrial economy.
Infrastructure, environmental and industrial services are a clear specialty. Firms here back environmental and waste services, specialty construction, utility and infrastructure services, and transportation companies, the kinds of businesses that are common across the Gulf South.
Healthcare, consumer and manufacturing companies are on the list as well, and at least one New Orleans firm has invested across healthcare, transportation, manufacturing and consumer businesses for many years.
The buyer types vary. They include traditional buyout funds, a Small Business Investment Company that pairs debt with minority equity, and an accelerator that backs searchers who each buy and run one company. Most look for companies with roughly $3 million to $25 million of EBITDA, while at least one firm focuses on larger infrastructure platforms.
A buyer in the same state can visit often and already knows the local lenders, accountants and attorneys. Even so, every firm here buys outside Louisiana, and many active buyers of Louisiana companies are based elsewhere. The better questions are whether a firm has bought businesses like yours, at your size, and what happened to the founders and managers after closing.
The profiles below are built to answer those questions. Each one lists the firm's announced deals from the last two years, with dates and links to the source, along with its stated size range and current portfolio, so an owner can quickly see which Louisiana firms are active in their industry.
Greymont is paid by buyers, never by owners. Greymont can help Louisiana owners compare these firms with national buyers active in the Gulf South and find the right fit.
