What Brenton Point Capital Partners buys

Brenton Point Capital Partners is a New York private equity firm that backs founder- and family-owned companies in the lower middle market. Its stated target is $3 million to $20 million of EBITDA, and it says growth potential and the quality of management matter more to it than size or industry. Its team has built companies in B2B services, consumer and residential services, specialty distribution and light manufacturing. Current platforms include a pool builder and service company, a funeral home group, a Bobcat equipment dealer, a property restoration contractor, a crop nutrition company and a commercial fuel distributor.

The firm grows each platform through add-on acquisitions. It reported 14 add-ons and $83 million of new equity raised in 2025. Its 2026 restoration and crop nutrition deals were described as growth investments in which the founders kept a stake. A smaller owner is most likely to meet Brenton Point as an add-on, for example a funeral home joining Landmark Funeral Group, a pool service company joining Easton Select Group, or a fuel distributor joining Continental Fuel Group.

Greymont’s take

How Brenton Point Capital Partners fits a seller

Brenton Point suits owners who want to keep a hand in the business after a sale. In its 2026 restoration and crop nutrition deals, the founders kept ownership stakes and the existing leaders stayed in their roles. Owners of funeral homes and commercial fuel distributors have a direct route in, because both of those platforms are buying now and say acquired businesses keep their names and teams. In March 2026 the firm also joined Private Equity for Greater Good, which commits it to share part of its investment gains with all full-time employees of its companies, a point that can matter to owners who care about their staff.

The firm does not publish a fund size, so an owner should ask how the platform they would join is funded and how long Brenton Point expects to hold it. Owners who roll equity into the deal should also ask how the employee gain-sharing plan affects their own payout.

Questions owners ask

What size company does Brenton Point invest in?

Its stated criteria call for $3 million to $20 million of EBITDA. Smaller businesses can still fit as add-ons, and the firm completed 14 add-on acquisitions across its platforms in 2025.

Does Brenton Point buy funeral homes?

Yes. It launched Landmark Funeral Group in 2025 with industry veterans to buy funeral homes, crematories and cemeteries in Indiana, Michigan, Ohio, Western Pennsylvania and West Virginia. In October 2026 Landmark added Dawson Funeral Home in Ohio and nine Funeral Excellence Group locations in Kentucky and Indiana.

Does the owner stay involved after Brenton Point invests?

In its recent deals, yes. At Merit Restorations the CEO and leadership team stayed in place and a co-founder joined the board with a retained stake. At Lakeshore Ag the founder stayed on as CEO and remains a significant investor.

Do employees share in the gains when a Brenton Point company is sold?

Brenton Point joined Private Equity for Greater Good in March 2026. Under that program it commits to distribute a portion of its investment gains to all full-time employees of its portfolio companies, not only senior managers.
