What Artemis Capital Partners buys
Artemis is a Boston private equity firm that buys only one kind of business: industrial technology manufacturers that design and build highly engineered products for aerospace, defense, life sciences and semiconductor customers. The technologies it targets include RF and microwave parts, test and measurement equipment, optics and photonics, analytical instruments, thermal management and diagnostics. It takes control of each company, adds capital, board help and operating partners, and often grows a platform through add-on purchases, such as Antenna Associates for Diamond Antenna and Athena AI for SightLine.
In September 2026 Artemis held the final close of its fourth fund, Artemis Capital Partners IV, at $254 million, and said three Fund IV platforms were already bought. It does not publish revenue or EBITDA limits. Its first fund announcement described a focus on niche product makers, including divisions of larger companies, that were held back by thin management or too little investment. A smaller manufacturer is most likely to meet Artemis as an add-on to a platform such as Optikos, Maury Microwave or McDanel Advanced Materials.

Greymont’s take
How Artemis Capital Partners fits a seller
Artemis suits owners of engineering-heavy manufacturers in a narrow band of technologies, such as RF components, optics, precision instruments or advanced materials, whose customers are defense contractors, lab instrument makers or chip equipment companies. It is not a buyer for general machine shops or service businesses. A sale usually means Artemis takes control and brings in its own operating partners and board support. In the April 2026 Optikos deal, the leadership team kept their roles and the founder moved into a strategic advisor and chair emeritus role.
Artemis also folds companies it owns into each other, as it did with McDanel and Richland Glass in January 2026 and with Optikos and Omega Optical in September 2026. An owner should ask whether the business would stay on its own or be merged into a sister company, and how long Artemis expects to hold it before selling.
Questions owners ask
How big is Artemis's current fund?
Its fourth fund, Artemis Capital Partners IV, held its final close on September 1, 2026 with $254 million of commitments. The firm said three Fund IV platforms had already been bought by then.
What kinds of companies does Artemis buy?

In April 2026 it sold Sightline Intelligence to Acron Technologies, a portfolio company of TJC. In October 2025, Taiwan-based Uneo announced it would complete its purchase of Tekscan, a pressure sensor maker Artemis owned.
