What Point 41 Capital Partners buys

Point 41 Capital Partners is a private equity firm in Cos Cob, Connecticut, started by Aaron Wolfe and Jordan Wadsworth after long careers at Sun Capital. Its first fund, Point 41 Capital Partners I, closed at $400 million in September 2025, above a $300 million target. It buys majority stakes in North American specialty industrial and services businesses: engineered and building products, industrial technology, transportation and logistics, and residential, facility, environmental and infrastructure services. Sellers can be founders and families, corporations shedding a division, or other private equity owners.

Platform companies are valued at roughly $50 million to $350 million, and there is no minimum size for add-ons. A smaller owner is therefore most likely to meet Point 41 as an add-on to one of its four current platforms: Interstate AC Service, a Nashville commercial HVAC, plumbing and controls contractor; Summit Restoration Group, a water and fire restoration group that started in the Atlanta area; Statewide Roofing, a San Jose commercial roofer; and Safe-Way Garage Doors, an Indiana garage door maker and distributor.

Greymont’s take

How Point 41 Capital Partners fits a seller

Point 41 fits owners of commercial HVAC and plumbing, property restoration, commercial roofing or overhead door businesses who would rather join a growing platform than sell to a large strategic buyer. Its announcements for Interstate, Summit and Safe-Way each invite owners in those trades to get in touch. Deals so far have kept founders involved: the Atlanta restoration founders invested alongside Point 41 and kept their leadership roles, and an Interstate founder stayed on the board.

Because the firm is young and investing its first fund, owners should ask where each platform stands in Point 41's plan and when the firm expects to sell it, since that sale decides what any rolled-over equity is worth. Owners should also ask how an add-on price is split between cash at closing and equity in the platform.

Questions owners ask

How big are the companies Point 41 Capital Partners buys?

Its platform investments are companies with an enterprise value of about $50 million to $350 million, according to its 2025 fund announcement. It sets no minimum size for add-on acquisitions, so smaller companies can join one of its existing platforms.

What industries does Point 41 focus on?

Specialty industrials, such as engineered and building products and industrial technology, and services, including residential, facility, environmental and infrastructure services. Its current platforms cover commercial HVAC and plumbing, property restoration, commercial roofing and garage doors.

Is Point 41 buying restoration companies?

Yes. It formed Summit Restoration Group in September 2024 by partnering with Georgia Water & Fire Restoration and Property Medics of Georgia, and in May 2026 Summit added Capital Construction Services and Capital Fire & Water in Richmond, Virginia.
